Ps - this is Ben, left my iPad upstairs so thought I'd post one on this account <ok> :D

@derailmentrus

Okay, so getting back on topic. Where does everyone feel we should strengthen in Jan? And what realistic targets could we go for?

Think an obvious one is at DM, we've been crying out for another DM for a while now so hopefully we'll get one in January.

Anywhere else that you feel needs strengthening?

Liverpool are set to make a new approach to sign Derby County's highly rated 18-year-old midfielder Will Hughes during the January transfer window.

Looks a decent talent, but if the price being quoted is correct, then like we've done lately if the numbers don't add up, we should walk away.
Had heard they wanted 12M+ that's just plain ludicrous if true, 4M+ Add ons and maybe a sell on fee if he hits all the targets.
If teams continue to demand a premium for English talent, then buying clubs will continue to look abroad for similar (if not better talent) for a lot less and therefore the vicious circle with regards to the national team continues!

This is the reason why the England team is so awful. A fuly developed average Premier League player will cost less than an 18 year old who has had one good season in the Championship. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm all for a small fee plus a lot of addons (if they reach their potential) amounting to lets say £15mil, but straight up £12mil is fcking stupid.

I dont have a clue on a fee. But fees for these young English super talents can be all over the place.

Nick Powell joined United from Crewe for £6m.
We paid £1.6m for Shelvey.

Hmm so Tello has come out and said he turned down the chance to join us this past summer ( somewhere between 10-25 mil probably?) and wanted to stay in Barca.
