I generally agree. Jones isn't the worst back-up keeper in the world but he's certainly not good enough for the first team. However, the bit I don't get is why we have a player that count's towards a foreign quota in this role. Surely we would be better off filling it with a "homegrown" body?
He joined Boro at 17 but also had a loan spell at Shelbourne so not sure If he does fit then him being the back-up keeper makes sense.
brad jones is officially in as homegrown player above 21 in our prem squad this year. Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint Germain are prepared to offer Liverpool a huge offer of £35m plus their choice of one of four player to bring their star striker Luis Suarez to the club either during the January transfer window or at the end of the season. Reports suggest PSG are keen on making a more significant assault on the Champions League, a competition that Suarez would be able to participate in this term as the Anfield side have not featured in the tournament this season. The defending Ligue 1 champions are willing to offer Liverpool £35m and will throw either Ezequiel Lavezzi, Javier Pastore, Jeremy Menez or Adrien Rabiot into the mix to help tempt the club into parting with him. The Reds had previously been linked with moves for Menez and Pastore but PSG have consistently sought to warn the club off making an official approach, but will now eagerly offer one of them to help soften the blow.
35 and Thiago Silva? huge offer of 35? Do these hacks not realize that one reason we got Suarez to sign a new contract was to put a FAT buyout clause in there? Gotta be better!
£120m or shut your noise you ****ing old **** P.S. your kits are ugly too ^This is about the level of response that offer deserves
Spoken to my mate. Not great news. It's very quiet. Montoya isn't coming, nor is M'Vila. The latter is our choice. Apparently Rodgers said "We've already got a nutter here. We don't want another one". Too many clubs tells a story. Nothing else to report.
Meh. As I've said before, we buy well or we don't buy at all. It's common sense. No point in throwing away money on the wrong players just to appease some impatient fans.
This... I want the right player for the right price, not any old squad filler that may not be up to the job!
