In today's money, potentially good value at that price - some criticised his return at Swansea, but I think that was as much down to poor service as anything.

Frankly, I think he'd stand an excellent chance of outperforming Morata for Chelsea at the minute, but they may be persuaded to sell with an option to buy-back down the line...

I understand why we couldn't afford to sign him, £18m and £55,000-a-week salary, we all had dreams though.

    Kamberi wanted by Bristol City

Bristol City are lining up a move for Hibs striker Florian Kamberi.

The Swiss hitman only joined Neil Lennon’s side on a permanent deal in the summer after impressing on loan but could already be on his way out of the club.

It comes as City also eye a move for Rangers left back Lee Wallace and former Dundee United youngster Ryan Gauld, according to the Scottish Sun.

Kamberi was criticised last month by Lennon for his attitude and performances and has struggled to reach the heights of last season.

Lee Wallace is being targeted by Bristol City in the January window.

The former Rangers captain is top of City boss Lee Johnson’s wanted list as he targets a new left back, according to the Scottish Sun.

Wallace has played just twice for Rangers this season with one of those coming in the final seconds of a 3-3 draw with Motherwell, and the other a substitute appearance in the 2-1 win over St Johnstone last month.

He’s out of contract in the summer and has spent much of the last two seasons injured and dropped behind Borna Barisic, Andy Halliday and Jon Flanagan in the pecking order for Steven Gerrard.

No thanks to Wallace, we have had enough injury dramas over the past 2 seasons, so don't need another 'sick-note'.

I'm with you on that supcon and I wonder how we would be doing without all the injuries over the last two seasons.

Bristol City, who beat Stoke 2-0 on New Year’s Day, are also keen on Gauld.

The 23-year-old, once dubbed the Scottish Messi, is currently on loan at SC Farense from Sporting Lisbon.

If the Wallace rumours are true then it would add credence to the rumours of Kelly moving on - it could be a case of getting someone in who's immediately available for cover, especially if there's any doubt at all about extending Da Silva's loan. If we're really unlucky, left-back could go from one of our strongest positions to weakest...

Have no clue about Kamberi, but it hardly sets the pulse racing - a punt at best. Gauld is arguably a bit of a 'sexier' rumour, as he was once regarded as a top prospect and even now is still thought of as capable of breaking into the Scotland squad, but there's a great likelihood that he will ultimately be regarded as one who didn't fulfil his potential.

As always, time will tell, but as much as I approve of our general transfer policy of signing younger players to develop/sell on, there's a time and place to buy for the here and now and I'm not sure any of these particular players would improve the first team.

...Hoping there's something in the Isaac Hayden rumour, though he may be prohibitively expensive. That said, it's a unique opportunity to get someone in of a higher calibre and if ever there was cause to splash the cash a bit this may be it, especially if we do end up forced to sell Kelly for a large fee also.

Don't ask me why but I am a little uncomfortable with Hayden and I think it might be in his attitude.

What’s wrong with his attitude? This is a bloke who asked for a transfer back in the summer to be closer to his family, He didn’t throw his toys out of the pram when he didn’t get it but instead knuckles down and keeps playing Premiership football!

McClousky has left to sign for FGR

Apologies if this is somewhere else on the site.

If Gauld was as good as to be dubbbed the Scottish Messi why is he playing in the Portuguese second division?

And if you read Neil Lennon’s verdict on Kamberi is amusing at least.

Comparing anyone to Messi is akin to a professional death sentence, so unfair to criticise on that basis alone. Not making the grade at Sporting Lisbon also doesn't mean he's a complete failure, but admittedly, it's hard to imagine that this is the road taken of a player destined to play in the top flight.

Surprised about McCoulsky going. I thought he was one for the future.

Admitting you wanted to give someone a good whack seems to me to be a bit of an unprofessional attitude to me.

True, but he owned up and apologised, which is a big thing to do. I don't know enough about him to truly judge his character though.

I was gobsmacked when I read that, he was putting them away as a past time, then went on loan and it seemed to dry up when at Southend where he only played 90 minutes with 2 goals and 2 assists!!!!! .............21 goals in 55 appearances!!!

O.K.then I will give him some credit for his seemingly genuine apology.
