I'd be up for that too.. For his development to benefit us, he needs game time in this league, not Serie A!
I definitely would agree with you on that. Apart from Gerrard and Lucas the rest are no where near top 4 material. I know Allen's only been here for like 6 months, but honestly i don't see him get any better. Which is why BR mentioned in an interview that he would look to sign an AMC in the summer, it's probably after he splashed the 15 million he realized he's not quite the 'welsh-Xavi' he thought he was. I'd take someone like Isco over him anyday. And shelvey is probably not good enough either, i'd keep Henderson though, only because of the Engine he's got in him. At least his relentless pressing is useful, if brought on as a sub.
Temporary standings and club standings are completely different. This is why you can only buy from clubs like Rangers & FC Copenhagen
So Fiorentina ave bought Guissepe Rossi officially for some 10 mil I believe. Release clause is 35 mil euros. If he can boune back from his injury that will be some signing.
Btw, you watching the ballon d'or? Not a one player in the world XI outside of spain. All 11 players play in Spain, nuts, just nuts. Real and barca pretty much.
Nope, know it was on soon but didn't realise it was tonight never mind now Doesn't mean much though, even Michael Owen won it once
I meant more about the FIFA World XI. Can't be the best league in the world if you can't even get 1 player in there!!!
Define best league... For me, it is about competition, any team being able to beat any other team on their day. La Liga may have better players but results are fairly predictable, if you pick the favourites you will get at least seven of ten right, you can't do that in the Premier League! IMO, the fact that Barca and Real win nearly every week and always get 90+ points as well as a shed load of goals, plus their main players ended a season on 50+ goals, suggests it is a little top heavy to me
Think that is where you start to put things into best league, most exciting, most balanced, fair, etc. You can probably seperate all the leagues into one of these categories and more. German league for me has come on leaps and bounds, what was once Bayern and everyone else is now a pretty well balanced league and exciting at the same time. Bayern, Schalke, BVB, Leverkusen, Wolfsburg for a bit, Stuttgart for a bit, Werder Bremen, Monchengladbach now are just a few that could all win the title on any year.
Isn't that all down to the finances? Forcing clubs to live within their means? Obviously, Bayern ran away with it for a while because they could/can out spend any other team but the other clubs have developed whilst Bayern stagnated a little, hard to attract top players when there is little competition, see Celtic (and previously Rangers too) as an example
This is where they did it right and the league and national team are enjoying the fruits of it. They focused on development, similar to Spain, and it is paying off dividends. They don't need to go spend loads on the top talent elsewhere ( unless you are Bayern) you just create it. Think this is also why they have a better range of champions and quality teams.
I agree but the German league was in a position to be able to take this approach. The league was falling and was nowhere near the level of England, Spain or even Italy, it was a risk worth taking Can't see the Premier League taking this approach whilst Sky are pumping £1b a season into it. Especially when we have five or six top teams with at least three going for the title each year
True, but you just have to look at how well the german teams are doing in all the competitions, the league itself, the national team. Ditto with Spain, why would you not want that? For years Italy was similar to England in that they just bought the best and brought them in and they are struggling a bit as well and that league has become highly watered down. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the stats with longevity of coaches in all of the leagues. I feel like we rarely hear about coaches getting hired and fired in Germany or Spain a lot ( outside of the bayern, barca, real).
The German league is miles ahead of anyone in terms of quality imo. Young German talent throughout most teams too. Whereas here, Liverpool, utd, Arsenal and maybe one or two others develop young british talent. Spanish league is still comparable to the Scottish.
