Mclean has offside, he went to touch it which makes him active but Brady told him to leave it and he did I think they should go back to the old rule where if 1 player is offside the whole team is offside
Well you can blame FIFA and UEFA for that rule change. In a way i agree as Readings goalie did not know which player to cover. But as the rules stand now BRADYS GOAL WAS GOOD AS HE WAS NOT OFFSIDE AT ANYTIME.
It hasn't got anything to do with him not touching it. Interfering with play is the rule, perhaps you should read it?
'I've just spoken to the referee, we watched the goal together, with the linesman as well. He came in and explained the situation. Unless he touches it, which McLean didn't and he was pushed out of the way by Brady who scored, that's what they've been told to do.' (Brian McDermott) Perhaps you and McDermott should both read the rules.
How can it be only offside when the ball is touched? A player in an offside position can just stop a defender by sheltering the ball and allow another player to retrieve the ball? The rule is interfering with play = offside.
He wasn't interfering with play, that's the point, they both ran towards the ball, Brady from an onside position and Mclean from an offside position, so Mclean left it for Brady. He didn't obscure the view of the keeper, he didn't get in the way of another player, he never got to the ball, it was a perfectly good goal under the new rules(which I'd agree are a bit daft).
How was he not interfering with play? He was centimetres from it?! I don't know why you're bothering to make it sound like it wasn't offside when it just pure and simply was.
I'm not bothered at all, I was just trying to explain the rules to you, I couldn't care less, we won.
How was he not interfering with play? I had a perfect view mclean was going through one on one and then Brady literally pushed mclean out the way and went through to score. Hull created one ( offside ) chance all game and took it but tbh they didn't look good and we dominated just didn't have the cutting edge with Kebe , Mcanuff and Leigertwood being all injured. Reckon hull will finish outside the top 6 probaly bottom half ...
Mclean pushed Brady out the way? **** off you clown. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16673359.stm Beaten home and away, live with it.
That there is the difference between us and them. We beat Southampton twice and wasnt at all like that, they dont know how to have some banter without going either too far or abusing people
Just watched Hull's goal, and I'd say it probably wasn't offside. Think McLean wasn't interfering with play, it would have played out exactly the same were McLean nowhere near it.
Come on OLM let's not be rude to visitors. As our most frequent contributor, you'll give the Leicester forum a bad name.
