Theres a few of our lads in this video if you look carefully
Are Macheda or Chamakh the kind of lads who'll fancy it on a cold February at Millwall? Using Jason Roberts as an example, he's a sleeves up no nonsense kind whereas we could do without fancy silky skill types who might only show flashes in a lower league when they fancy it.
Most of the Premier League players you mention are either **** (Macheda, Bébé, Chamakh), unrealistic targets (Guidetti) or not out-and-out goalscorers (Do Prado, Fortuné). Not only that, but the fact that you would even mention the Championship forwards you have suggests you are mentally ill. I mean, Austin? Murray? Becchio? None of the decent ones would join us. It's a definite 'no' to Craig Davies and Nouha Dicko () especially.
Try reading. It's not a wish list, it's a list of out-of-favour Prem strikers and proven/in-form Championship strikers, hence reasons given on why we shouldn't buy them/bring them in on loan. There are also reasons given on Nouha Dicko being a good option as an impact sub, not as our 1st choice, 1st name on the team sheet!
1. I see no reasons given as to why we shouldn't buy them, only vague, half-arsed excuses as to why we possibly should; 2. I'd say a first-choice striker should be priority over signing a bloke to make up the numbers, especially when that same bloke can only make the bench at another Championship side
1. You think stating a player would be too expensive for us to sign, or not experienced enough is a possible reason as to why we should buy someone? 2. You obviously haven't read the rest of people's posts stating we should probably buy 2 strikers, as the new striker and Aluko would be our first choice strikers, Simpson and AN Other (Dicko?) would be a good option as an impact sub.
I appreciated the effort. You are the first person to put some sort of list of players together on here.
Macheda hasn't had any football lately but is only 20 and potentially has the class to be a great player, will stand by that having seen the 2009 video. I remember people saying 'oh no why is Brady back' and I said on here, because he is a player with class who is only going to get better. I don't subscribe to this thing where people say 'he's ****' for no particular reason apart from lack of games, not getting picked for Man Utd isn't a crime, it happened to quite a few of our lads like Evans.
Buying two strikers would be overkill. SB isn't going to buy players for the hell of it, he said so himself. We need a goalscorer, that's it. Another WB to cover on the left maybe and a goalie on a permanent and we wil be sorted.
I used to rate Macheda but he went to DQPR with some massive hype behind him, and did nothing. No other Club has wanted to gamble on him again since. Is it a gamble which we're willing to take? After Proschwitz, I doubt it. There's plenty of time to sign prospects when in the Premier League, at the moment we need a proven goalscorer and we should go for Wood or Craig/Steve Davies from WBA, Barnsley and Bristol City respectively.
Leicester are apparantly in for Chris Wood if the info in their forum is to be belived. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/85015-chris-wood/
Who ? Thought he had retired. ? Well yes if he is still around he can go out on loan as well In Jan. Well said BigFatTiger. The more i think about it Chris Wood is the only option imo. He ticks all the boxes whilst others dont. Not so much overkill just playing safe. I would also think that if possible SB will try and get both Brady and Stockdale on season long loans with a view to buy in the PL. Like the Elmo deal we have in place now.
He'll almost certainly be gone at the end of the season(if he gets fit again, I assume he'll go back out on loan in Jan).
Dazzar, of that list I'd have a go for Campbell, Wood, Guly, Becchio emoticon-0119-puke, Davies or Robinson. I'd have a cheeky bid for Murray and Austin too just to test the water. I appreciated the effort anyway, what Erik said just highlights the difficult there will be in finding a decent striker who wants to come here.
Wonder if Manchester United will let us have Angelo Henriquez on loan. Watched him in the Copa Libertadores, he was phenomenal. Think he finished in double figures for the season, at the age of 17.
A successful January transfer window would guarantee us promotion I believe, I think 2nd spot is ours.
The JTW is make or break for a lot of Clubs. Burnley are only where they are due to Austin's goals, and his goalscoring has calmed down now so either teams have done their homework or his head has been turned so hopefully he's going. Zaha at Palarse could be EPL bound, Ince could be heading back to the scousers (puts Blackpool out of it), we need to hold onto Chester/Aluko and make Brady and Stockdale permanent whilst bringing in WB cover and another forward. I'm going to be paying a lot of interest to this Transfer Window than usual.
Mark Davies of Bolton is also another name linked with a PL move to Swansea in Jan. This could well happen with BW in such a mess financially and promotion now looking unlikely for them. Ince looks home and dry with a move back to Liverpool. Even if Liverpool agree a fee of £6m with Blackpool, the Reds have a 35% sell on clause from when they sold him to Blackpool. Austin should be a target for a PL struggler as i dont see Burnley as anythibng other than mid-table and the Clarets should cash in now. Zaha and Palace will be an interesting watch in January especially IF any of the rumours actually happen.
Well that was silly of them. If he went to Man U for ten million they could've got £3.5m for doing nothing. Or, they could've just kept him and not had to splurge for a player that was theirs to begin with. I think we might be forced to look abroad again if we can't find anything proven, but I think we should have a cheeky bid for Austin anyway, tell him something along the lines of "You are the top scorer in Europe, join us for a big sack of cash and we'll make you a PL player next year." Kinda like Blackburn did with Rhodes (bet he feels like a nitwit). I'd look into getting Piquionne (unless footballers over 30 are banned from signing for City because it automatically makes you really, really ****.) from West Ham on a short term deal, he had a decent spell at Portsmouth and did well in a struggling Doncaster side last year. He'd certainly be good as a target man. Other than that I'm struggling to think of players we could go for that people on here would have heard of. Like Phillip Hosiner from Austria Vienna. He scores goals.
