What happened at Everton smacks of something beyond the football. You don't blow out a £13.5m investment on the basis on minutes played. His YouTube clip looks like he can finish and has the desire to chase down. Most of the goals on there would have been scored against a number of PL defences. He has clearly got a lot to prove, should be reasonably match fit from the U23s and is worth a chance for half a season. Couple him up with Abel and they could cause defences a real problem, put Mason in his natural position and we might, at last , press higher and give our defence a breather and our goal difference a much needed rest. Funnily enough wiki has Dia being described as looking like 'Bambi on ice', which is another phrase my mate imparted about Niasse.
That is more than a worry - if true, it means that Silva is a yes man to a non-footballing owner. And if that is the case, then Silva is just here to try his luck, period.
