Interesting this because it suggests Silva is starting to put a transfer/ squad wish list together for next season. When you also consider rumours that the club have sent a representative to Turkey to pursue interest in Van der Wiel ( Silva target) it makes you wonder whether preliminary talks about a contract extension are happening.
I made a thread about the fact if we stay up he automatically has another 12 months on his contract but it disappeared.
Maybe cos when you see a player in the flesh it leaves an impression on you. Got huge potential, only young, built like a brick ****house and fast as ****. Who would we want a player like that!!
Probably about £8-10m. He's very fast and tricky, but every time I've seen him he's got no end product at all. He only assisted that goal at our place because he miskicked his shot across our box. If he can sort that bit of his game out he'd be a hell of a player. But as it stands, he's at Boro. And did knob all at Villa.
He barely scores or assists though, a huge criticism of him wherever he goes is his end product. We aren't a club that can pay a huge fee for potential. We either take speculative picks like Robertson or maguire or spend big on proven players.
You have to plan for every eventuality. Anything his scouts find will be useful to him at another team anyway. I wouldn't look too far into it.
I read a few Boro messageboards and they say the same thing, but it just so happens we have a manager who can bring the best out of dodgy players. A Traore with an end product would be miles out of our price range, but if we could get him for say £8million and Silva sorted him out it would be a major coup.
So no end product doesn't score or provide but worth 8-10 million. At a car crash club like villa, at a defensive club like boro, he's barely 21. I'd have him in a heartbeat. As will a lot of clubs.
Don't know if he was just an interested spectator , but camera on Juan Mata at the Man U / Chelski game with Michael Keane sat in front.
