If this new lot get to play tomorrow night Jose will be confused again, we could be on for another win.
If he could only put his foot down once today, and it was to keep Robertson or sign this bloke, I'm happy with the choice he made.
Loans are the perfect transfer strategy for a club in our position. If we stay up we're in pole position to make the best ones permanent. If we go down we don't have to honour long contracts and high wages.
Confirmed so far... Signed Oumar Niasse (striker) - Everton (loan) Evandro (attacking midfield) - Porto (undisclosed) Omar Elabdellaoui (right back) - Olympiacos (loan) Lazar Markovic (winger) - Liverpool (loan) Andrea Ranocchia (defender) - Inter Milan (loan) Alfred N'Diaye (defensive midfield) - Villarreal (loan) Kamil Grosicki (winger) - €9m Rennes Gone Allan McGregor - Cardiff City (loan) Johan Tor Horst - York City (loan) Jake Livermore - West Brom (£10m) Robert Snodgrass - West Ham (£10.2m) Alex Bruce - Wigan (loan) James Weir - Wigan (loan) Rory Watson - Scunthorpe (free) Josh Clackstone - Notts County (loan)
Obvious issue though is players have no reason to fight to keep the club up as they're off in the summer if it goes to **** anyway.
Don't really remember our club challenging Celtic in this window for targets and rumours , tho most of our signings are a bit left field
You could equally argue that they have to fight harder to convince the club to make the loan permanent.
The slight optimism I felt when we bought Silva in has diminished in the transfer window for me. I think in Livermore and Snodgrass we lost a lot of the core of the spirit the squad managed to build up and somehow stay in touch. I don't follow any foreign football, so my socks remain intact buy the names we have brought in, while our competitors appear to have done much better. Anyway, great to be back on the beer!!
