Silva's made it plain what he requires, the club needs to be seen to be trying to achieve that. I have significant doubts that they will but I withhold judgment until the window closes. If we're serious, we have to back him. Simple as that. If Silva walks then we lose an exciting young manager and will be lost in Gary Megson territory.
Just had a look and Sky Bet have him as 25/1 to be next to leave. Might have a few quid. I would've defo thought Mazzarri but Karanka is favourite at 8/13!
Silva confirmed we were interested, but not that we actually bid (at least as far as I'm aware), he was always out our league, he went for €20m.
Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Sunderland defender Patrick van Aanholt for an undisclosed fee. Marseilles have completed the signing of Payet for £25m.
Why have the PL decided to have a full programme of fixtures on deadline day/the day after? Surely preparation for the games is affected ?
Na I disagree on that one. There's no way Silva would have even commented on Bailey unless we thought we had a genuine chance of signing him. It's true he was already close to signing for Leverkusen but we must have heard something positive back for Silva to say "we are trying".
I think the money will be spent, but it has to be on the right players. We spent a little in the summer but I can't think of any of our signings which has really worked so far.
