When talking about a specific issue. Why would I shoe horn another subject into the post. By that standard. Every time I write something positive I have to counter balance it with a negative and every time I write some negative I have to counter balance it with a positive.
It looks as if the only 'bidding war' had a ceiling of £10million. 3 clubs reached it - Burnley, then Boro, then (finally) West Ham. Talking personal terms, Spam had the best offer... Nothing more for the Club in that - the only 'bidding war' was in the personal terms.
Im sure this has already been talked about but can we please put the Allam hate (regarding transfers) to rest. When it was announced that we've accepted bids for Livermore and Snodgrass most ppl jump on the owners back before knowing the facts. Now the truth is out about how Snodgrass made it clear to Silva and the owners that he wanted to leave. Forget the guessing games that he only wanted to leave because of lack of contract talks etc... We dont know the reasons we just know he wanted to leave. For all we know it was the same with Livermore. I still like to think that Ehab's comments about us not being a selling club are true. But when the player wants to leave and we get ok/good money.. it makes sense to sell and move on.
Think this could be a goer. Silva will know him from Benfica, he is valued at around £13m , the down side is that Wolves are not likely to cancel his loan until they have replacement
I like what Silva's done with the team, but I'm so confident about us not getting more injuries. That's complete speculation about Livermore.
I don't think there's been 'Allam hate' regarding transfers. I do think there has been people criticising one or more decisions they've made. Certainly I have I still feel they've made a mistake selling Snodgrass, and I also think the way that Ehab has apparently gone about dealing with his contract discussions is incompetent and will, if true, have made him more likely to want to leave Personally I would have actually spoken to him ages ago, and if he asked to leave told him that we wouldn't sell him this window but would let him go with our best wishes in the summer regardless of relegation or not And Ehab went much further than just saying we're not a selling club. He said 'There is no appetite to sell players. They are our best assets and we are in a survival fight. We do not want to weaken the team and we are focused on making additions' So that's doesn't explain selling Livermore days later, and doesn't explain why there was no competent effort to keep Snodgrass or why he didn't simply tell him he was staying (would have lost a little value by the Summer but it would have been worth it) ....so nothing put to rest for me, but it's too simplistic to call it 'Allam hate'
Defying logic is committing yourself to spend more than you can currently budget for. After all this club has been through and everyone's ultimate wish to see a certain pair gone. If we had a big fat sack full of cash you might have a point but we are very ****ing far from it.
Ehab is a **** Even someone as thick as me can see that. I still dont believe he had anything to do with bringing in Marco Silva and his staff
It's a swipe at the Allams because common sense and logic screams DONT SPEND MORE ****ING MONEY THAN YOU HAVE!!!!
5 or 6 players short!!! We now have a full 25 man squad which is full with seniors!!! Which 6 positions do we need to sign players for and which 6 players do we drop to accommodate them? Really. You're just making this **** up as you go along. Common sense and logic indeed...
