Frankly, we're not going to know where we stand until 11.00pm Tuesday. There's usually some last minute bids, so in theory anyone could still go and we're yet to see if Silva's been given any of the money raised.
Probably because we didn't have anyone else fit enough to sit on the bench. Did he play? Edit - I know he didn't which was my point.
im not in the know at all just going on what I have been told. And the fella that told me knew the score on snodgrass and just passing on what he's saying about robbo.
Lol you're kidding. Robertson's worth twice that at least. Shaw went for 32m and I'm sure (ha) Robertson has played about as many PL games as he had.
He's still British so shouldn't make much difference. It has helped him that some of his best moments for us have come in big games (that run and cross against Chelsea for Elmo two seasons ago for instance) so should be on the radar of plenty.
We will split it then 15 million. Robertson is no defender. From another point of view we didn't pay a lot for him so 10-15 million is a healthy profit. It's just where the profit goes is the problem.
Bale started as a LB and he was no defender.. don't see why not being a defender should harm his value much. Sure, but the TV money has exploded since we bought him. It's all relative. We also bought him from a crap Scottish club. He's now played probably 100 games in English football, a lot of which have been at the highest level. Very different.
Robertson is no Bale. And I can't see one of the top clubs playing him on the left wing, although that's where I think he should play. 10-15 million is about right in my opinion.
Of course he's not, I'm just pointing out that Robertson not being able to defend - which I think is mighty harsh on him by the way - wouldn't impact his price much.
Livermore not missed last night and Robertson not missed last night and except for those free kicks Snodgrass not missed last night - in fact all the new signings added something we didn't have - Silvas doing a great job - we've watched some right **** under Bruce for over two years - its refreshing to see a significant change for the better
Looking back at Ehab and Silvas comments at the start of the month this has been coming a long time. Just a case of getting the best price we can. It's a bit sour that Snodgrass downed tools last week and forced a move through, I'm glad he's going. We don't want ****s like that around, and specially not when they're Scottish.
Agree , Silvas seeing things with a fresh pair of eyes and people just expect him to do the same as phelan and Bruce
There's a lot more than that you can hate him for. 1. He's Scottish 2. He played for Leeds 3. He's a serial cheat, dives everywhere 4. He's a **** who downs tools 5. He's Scottish 6. He's a ****ing Celtic fan Since the initial shock at losing our key attacking player I'm actually really quite happy to be freeing ourselves of this odious, poisonous vermin.
The interesting thing for me is the shift in possession stats. Now don't get me wrong, I think it's a massively overrated stat when the sole aim of the game is to score more goals than the opposition, but it's still intriguing to see how this has changed. Under Bruce and indeed Phelan we regularly had possession percentage in the 30s or lower, yet we are dominating the ball now and this is against the "bigger teams". Did I see in the 2nd half at Chelsea we had 60% possession? And it wasnt like they were pissing about and cruising so let us have it, this was chasing the game. That just wouldn't have happened before and is a notable change in approach.
Scottish press (Scotsman, Record) floating rumors that we are in for Josh Windass. Time to resuscitate the "Windass in signing on Friday" thread?
