I have to admit that I was perplexed when he bypassed the Iron Brew for the Oasis. He never even looked at the surplus shortbread left over from Christmas either. I'm beginning to wonder whether he's scotch at all?
I think all of those players who had their contracts auto-extended are in the window, this window. Judgements aside, it's interesting how the wheel turns. Livermore - just over a year ago it looked like his career was over. We'd spent 7 million and it looked like it was all down the pan as he faced a lengthy ban or the sack. Some 18 months on, we (apparently) sell him at profit for 10m. Snodgrass - just over a year ago word was that he was finished. He cost us 7 million and only managed circa 30 minutes - it again looked like we'd spunked 7m on nothing. Some 18 months or so on, we (apparently) will sell him for profit.
Saw them at Wembley Arena back in 2004 or 2005. They made us sing Living Daylights chorus for what felt like 10 minutes. Couldn't fit Omar's name into Hunting High and Low unfortunately.
The way we exercised the contract extensions was appalling, it was just another example of how clueless Ehab is.
One foolproof way to check. Host a Burns night next Wednesday. Invite him. Chuck him a sheep's stomach filled with offal. Hurl neeps at him. If he recoils in disgust he's not a Scotch. If he doesn't you can legally burn him as a witch. Alternatively, if you can't be arsed to do that, just ask him how to spell Irn Bru.
No. He bet against us going down. Now we are less likely to go down he can bet on us going down and make money regardless of what we do. Edit: the key word you may have missed is lay.
He's not back until next season, by which time many of our new (loan) signings may well be gone, so it's not worth worrying about.
True, basically I guess I'm saying not sure wed need him on a permanent unless we do sell elmo. You're right though if we go down its all irrelevant.
Irn Bru? Is that how the scotch spell it Ern? Jesus wept. I shall refrain from making myself look even more of an illiterate buffoon and will carry on spelling it as Iron Brew.
People trying to rationalise the sale of and potential sale of Livermore and Snodgrass blow my mind. There is no rationale for selling your 2 best players to teams in the same league when you're in a relegation battle with 14 fit players .
