OT but assuming this is fake news then what inspires somebody to do that? Seriously - what fun does the whacky Dave get from this?

 

It was his first and only tweet, so it gains him likes and retweets and when someone points out it's BS, he just drops the account. It's a bit of fun because there's a chance it gets picked up and news outlets run with it before they realise.

 

I think I've got a different idea of fun than he has.

1. Snodgrass and Livermore leaving at this point of the season would be a disaster.

Yes we may have some money but there won't be anyone out there that is better that will want to sign for a club the size of ours, not to mention at this point of the season to a relegation battle.


2. I'm highly conscious that we don't ship out out British players and replace them with foreign players.

I think a lot of our grit, determination and character to survive this season comes from our British players. When you start getting rid of them and replacing them foreign players. You stand a much higher chance of bringing in some mercanary who doesn't care either way.

3. Why would we sell top players to relegation rivals.

4. Got no problem losing Meyler, Bruce, Elmo, Diomande and McGregor/Marshall.

But at this point of the season I'd rather not lose anyone.

Is that 3 attacking players they've signed this window? Rhodes must be off somewhere, surely.

Good signings for them I think - I'm amazed that Bojan hasn't been getting regular games for Stoke, he was brilliant before injury kept him out last season.

In six months he'll be worth 12 quid.
But yeah, if you can get a title out of it, then there's the gamble.

Boro appear to be doing what we did under SB and throwing a wad of cash at it , fair play to them but as happened with city it doesn't away work.
