McGrandles gone now, as well as CBT and Fraser. Let’s hope our new midfielders are actually an improvement on these three (the jury is still out) otherwise we are in even deeper sh*t.
So the new manager, like the previous one, has little say in these decisions. The SMT will happily sack him if they've fecked up.
The only time a manager gets a say in who he wants at Charlton, is in the two weeks before he gets sacked !!!
Lose Fraser and CBT and sign a RB ? Very underwhelmed ……. And I stayed up past my bedtime awaiting the new arrivals !
I agree. We lost one of our best three players (CBT, Dobbo, May). Any evidence we have signed a player who will become one of our best three? Not yet. Maybe the squad is pepped up a bit in other aspects. But again, no evidence of that yet on the pitch. Many of our newcomers have played 3 or 4 games now. And we've taken one point.
Some of the players signed in the window have potential to become good players. But that’s it really. None of them (apart from Ladapo who won’t stay and is unfit) have shown that they are good enough for this level yet. Considering the three we’ve lost, that isn’t good enough, so again I think overall it’s a very disappointing window and NOT what we needed to fight a relegation battle. And we still have no manager. We could well be sitting one place above the drop zone by Saturday evening. Nathan Jones or no Nathan Jones.
From the little that I've seen Bakinson is hard-working, puts himself about pretty well but is technically limited. Coventry looked great in his 15minute cameo but was disappointing when he played 90 minutes. Gillesphey looked shaky, Reg ok Ladapo poor. Looking forward to Saturday.
Elerewe sold to Bromley for an undisclosed fee, and we have first option to buy him back, and there's also a sell-on fee. I always though he was the most promising of our young CB's.
We've just signed another one - Thierry Small, a 19 year old who seems to have been released by Southampton. Interesting, and I wonder if the Southampton connection is a reason why he has rocked up when we have Nathan Jones close to signing.
