Right, let's get this going and can we make it a sticky until the window ends? First rumour I have seen lately. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar An unusual name, Miguel Freckleton. A bottle of San Miguel and a pint of Yorkshire Ale. Perhaps his Mum and Dad had a holiday in Benidorm 9 months before his arrival? At 18, one for the future (again) and we are not favourites to get him, but it's a start.
Morning all. Well done BfB for getting this going and sparkey with his sticky stuff. I would imagine that an evaluation of what we need to stay up balanced against potential income from sales of those out of contract in the summer, is currently being undertaken. I can't imagine too many if any coming in. There's a couple of games left to assess if we have enough talent coming through to replace anyone leaving. The tough test may come in making a decision about Moore if a big enough bid comes in. Sustainability rules for the moment.
I think we will have a bit of a shuffle. A couple in and a few out, making room on the wage bill. There must be some space after Tomlin's exit. Loaners are likely for incoming. A couple more Prem youngsters like Giles would be useful. I think Prem sides will view us more positively with Morison in charge and his work with our Under 23's - and the way youngsters have been given chances this season. A few of the out of contract at end of season guys could go. Pay off Vassell and possibly Murphy and Vaulks may want more game time to help his case with Wales. Watters and Wintle are candidates to return from loan although Morison gas said he may let them stay where they are for the season to guarantee game time.
A bit more finesse in the midfield and a LB / LWB is a minimum requirement. A couple contract renewals, Morrison, Ralls, possibly Pack and Smithies if we can half his salary. Might be we just need to leave the rest of the contracts run down. Any signings are likely to be loans. Thinking to next year we need to ensure we have experience and some continuity down the spine of the side. Think the summer will be a rebuild, but need some foundations in place.
Agree with that. Prem clubs will only let youngsters out on loan to bring them on in a positive way that will be useful to the parent club. I'm sure we've missed out (been turned down) in the recent past because of the way we've been perceived to play under Warnock/Harris/McCarthy. Steve Morison and his methods would be far more attractive to Prem clubs than the previous encumbents.
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...s/cardiff-city-transfer-activity-you-22328160 The usual names will be trotted out soon enough; here’s one they put out recently - “realistic” https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...alistic-players-cardiff-city-swansea-22253471
Charly Musonda looked an interesting prospect until I read he's been injured for 2 years. We've risked it and got bitten too often in the past. Lewis Baker would be worth a look. outside that...... Don't think we'll be able to offload any of those we no longer want. Think we're stuck with them to the summer. Looking towards next year, it might be good to get a couple more young guns out on loan to get some senior game time.
Sadly I think you are right on us being stuck with the players we want to try move on. Dependent upon who they are (eg Bacuna potentially, Murphy etc) there could be some serious wages to contend with and the odds are that could dictate who, if anyone we can bring in during the window. Personally I think we still need a dedicated left back as back up to Giles. Poor young Bagan has had a bit of a set back this season and whilst I'm sure he will come good, a scrap in the lower half of the table isn't really what he needs to come into. A right winger with pace and precision would be nice. IMO we keep filling that berth with make shift players when Ng doesn't play (thank goodness he seems to have started to find form again). As always, midfield still needs someone to freshen it up, despite all the options with the youngsters. Another creative player really is a must, especially if Ralls is getting injury prone and could even be off in the summer. Still also lacking a like for like replacement for Keifer. Collins can do some of what he does, Harris does some of what he does but no-one else is an all rounder. Not too much to ask for eh?
Staggering to think Bacuna was given a 4 and half year contract - and equally that Warnock thought he was good enough then for the Premier League
............either that, or the fact that Warnock's son James was alleged to have acted as an agent for Bacuna negotiating the deal.
Dont know how that can be right. If the club knew and allowed it to happen they deserve what they get.
In fairness he looked ok at Villa and every now and then he has a really good game.... Problem is it's like one game in 30.
Indeed we did but I don't think I ever saw him play for them so I couldn't really comment on what he was like while there. Odds are he probably played against us for them, so I'm not sure what the fact that I can't recall seeing him in a Reading shirt says about his games against us...
