That's almost as bad as Dopey Drakeford's statement yesterday about slow vaccine distribution in Wales.
Just had a conversation with my Cherries supporting brother in law. Word down there is that Rangers (Glasgow version) have made an offer for Simpson and another young Bournemouth player so our deal is on the back burner. Wonder if Simpson might now see a move to us as career advancing by having the opportunity to work with a manager who was a multi capped international centre back. Could learn a thing or two about defending - albeit the old fashioned way?
Yes, it'll be interesting to see if the appointment of MM gives us a bit more gravitas than Harris in the eyes of players and managers that have players to lend.
I see Cavanagh endorsed MMs appointment Now if MM could find a player like that in the next few days....... (Just noticed the initials, hope he's as successful as the last MM we had.).
Just heard we'd recalled James Waite from Weston Super Mare where he's been scoring well. Don't know whether that's Mick's first action on players. Maybe more because the Southern League is currently suspended until at least March so he won't get any games down there - better off back with us and another academy option to try out off the bench?
Looks like Simpson deal is dead................. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/c...d-blow-as-rangers-swoop-for-transfer-targets/
Yep, said that could happen on Friday. I know Rangers are top up there but it is still a poor league with only 2 real challengers for the title. Easy option, probably more money. In reality how many players who make that move come back to the Prem League here, no matter how successful they are?
Who was the striker that went to celtic with dreadlocks and cameback bald? He did ok on his return. The exception that proves the rule.
It’d been good to have a young central defender on the books but for me central midfield is the priority. That is the area of the pitch where we are second rate. Maybe MM can get the best out of Murphy. He was only the pitch a few minutes v QPR but put over our best cross of the game which deserved a goal. There was talk of him going on loan but now?
I think most agreed that after RB, CM was the priority for what needed to be 'fixed'. It would also be great if MM could get inside Murphy's head and get him firing. Given MMs prefered formation is 4231 (), were probably looking at Bacuna and Ralls in front of the back 4. Wilson needs to be the centre of the 3. Leaves Ojo, Murphy, Hoilet or Watters out wide with Moore up front.
Still hope once MM sees the recent games on video he’ll realise we’re acutely short of match winners in CM and see if he can bring someone in.
Ours or someone else's? If someone else's, Henrik Larsson at Man U? Just checked, he only played 7 games on loan at Man U, scoring one goal. So dreadlocks at Celtic, bald at Man U after 40 games at Barcelona but not a success in the Prem. Can't think of anyone else. He went to Celtic from Feyenoord.
Not difficult Remote Dreadlocks - Celtic - returned to England Narrows it down a bit. Lol!!! It is tough thinking of players who went from England to Scotland, returned and were successful. Scott Sinclair springs to mind but he is no better than average Championship since his return. Mind you his dippy, high maintenance fiancee (Helen Flanagan) must tire him out. Anyone else think of someone who successfully used his return ticket?
