I'll throw this question out there (apologies to the mods if this should be another thread). If we do not get any new blood in and are relegated because we don't sack a manager who is so clearly out of his depth - so what? Personally I enjoyed it in the Championship. Better fans, high quality football, and one league rather than a 3-in-1 league where you are up against multi-billionaires with little interest in football who are slowly destroying their clubs (though the fans of those clubs don't seem to realise it).

So much as I am annoyed with how the club is being run, if we go down is it such a bad thing?

I'll get my coat...

We've been discussing this at length this week. You're certainly not alone.

It would be seriously painful financially, as we have a lot of players on high wages and long contracts that would difficult to shift, and we don't know whether our current owner can backstop such. We'd need to gut as much of the squad as possible as quickly as we could, and hope to rebuild on the cheap while eating some of the larger contracts, or gamble on a quick promotion before the parachute payments ran out. Fail to do the latter and we'd end up in a debt spiral that could haunt us for a long time.

I wonder how damaging the relegation clause that we (surely must have) added to our contract offers has been?

Mail seem to think we are still pursuing Promes and Carrillo. I know....what do they know, but there are no other rumours so lets chew this one to death. Suggestion that we are arguing over a couple of million with Monaco....if we want him we should go for it. A couple of million is nothing a season or two down the line.

We can't afford not to be on the PL gravy train, we have got the money from the VVD sale, why not use it?

Our resident Journo Jeremy Wilson put out the article yesterday saying we were working on deals on both of them so there is some truth in it for sure. Doesn't mean we will get them though!

Depends what it's being tempered with. If it's paired with a lowish release clause, probably not that much. Of course, then we'd be taking all of that risk on our own shoulders.
