I only threw Lallana in because, well... It's about Sturridge really.... He'll play there next game.

Cynical? Moi.... Maybe just a bit bitter :)

Cork, Noble even that ginger lad at Newcastle(name escapes) have far more experience than Mason.
You don't mind if they're knocking down the door like Kane has or have shown flashes of being a special talent like Sterling or Chamberlain. When they've just put in solid premier league displays it's a nonsense and I'd say the same if Ward-Prowse made it in the squad.
We don't value experience enough in this country...I must be getting old

You are surely joking with that last line? We've spend years playing the same old crap because of their "experience"... Not saying Mason is a good selection, just find that last line incredible really.

Deadly serious.....I'm not talking about players who are already part of the existing set-up. I'm talking about the lack of players who earn caps or break into the England squad who are over 25 or more importantly have played over 150-200 senior games of football.
We constantly jump on the bright new hope and then wonder why they are not ready.

Ah sorry, I get your drift now. I thought for one horrible moment you were suggesting we needed more of the old guard back.

I think they are pretty rigid in their view that only the youngsters can learn the England way and if you weren't deemed good enough, or came through the England youth set up to U21s, then you've missed the boat.

You need to know the handshake.

Whilst one should always have an open mind about players who come good late, I do like the idea of players coming through the different age groups together. We might end up with an England side who look like they know each other. And I also think we should give more respect to the u21 side...it is disgraceful that we qualify for U21 Championships, then do badly because all the better players are withdrawn. Winning is a habit ...it will be fantastic for confidence if we win the u21 tournament in June. Good to see the u18-20s doing so well. There is no reason why a full international can't play for an age group team. I find Ince's attitude disgraceful in turning down the U21s...it is an honour to play for your country at any age group. I hope he is never picked for the senior squad with that attitude.
