    The only selection which shows any form of forward thinking is Harry Kane. A few of the others, like Forster and Clyne, are justified, but the rest are just complete nonsense. How Andros Townsend was picked beggars belief, as does the fact that Bertrand wasn't.

    Above from JWP is the right attitude. Contrast that with Tom Ince who has turned down a call up from the U21s. Doubt if that has impressed Hodgson.

    Probably not kick people so much :p. However, I am astonished Walker has made it and Jones. I know that they do not want to completely overhaul the squad every time, however I really think the defence is the weakness although there are few good alternatives, possibly Stones?

    Thought Shelvey might have a chance too.

    Shaw left us too soon. He doesn't get games at Man U and would have been better developing with us. Bertrand's omission is glaringly obvious.

    England aren't very good at the moment, but I doubt that Lithuania will offer a significant challenge.

    Schneiderlin is finally getting the recognition he deserved. Did Fonte get called up for Portugal?

    Brilliant. Of all the call-ups, that was the one most deserved, imo.

    EDIT: Oops, went looking and not confirmed anywhere I've been to see. Was that a hopeful Yes to Fonte, FLT?

    If I was playing today I would get called up to the England squad. I was injury prone, played in the reserves half the time and I wasn't very good at all. Roy would have me in a flash. I'd probably be the first one pencilled in on the team sheet. The only thing I wouldn't like is being asked to play out of position all the time. The team I played for were pretty crap and used to get beaten regularly so playing for England wouldn't be that different for me.
