From what I've seen hes the same sort of level as Williamson, he would be good for under 3 mil, but I'd rather we spend some more and get a real quality player! (wishful thinking I'm aware)

We don't need another Williamson, we need someone a fair bit better than him.

    Evening Toon

Tomkins had his confidence shot to pieces last season and was awful, but so were the rest of the team under the worst manager we have ever had.
He was and still is highly rated by us, and this season he has been class. He's quick, wins most headers and a good tackler. His positional sense needs working on,but he's only 22. I've always said that he will play for England in the future, and so far this season,he's been faultless. I doubt very much that we'll sell him and he's also a fan,so can't see it happening.

Good luck for the season, and look after 'our' Pards ;)

if that's true he'd be playing with collocini who could sort that out if we got him. i'm not going to say he's awful as I've never seen him play.

You've given a very favourable report on the lad, and in my opinion you're better placed than we are to judge him, you'll have seen much more of him than any of us.

Its usually the fans opinion i'd always trust as well mate. If we are interested in a player i've not seen much of,i'd sooner ask the fans of the club the player is at who watch them week in,week out <ok>

Suppose thats a reasonable assessment ha. Have to say I only seen him last season on match of the day or whenever he was on T.V and he seemed quite dodgy, but as you said may have been low on confidence, comparisons maybe made with him and coloccini, when we went down and look at him now!

It did'nt help him having to play next to that **** excuse of a captain we had either.

Has he always played CB? Thought I recalled him as more of a CM at one point but might be confusing him with someone else.
