Adapt to what? Explain what he needed to adapt to in a United side under Van Gaal? Genuinely want to know what you come out with here. Bcos if you slate his effort on the pitch you're talking bollox mate and clearly never watched him play.

It's funny that you adore a headless chicken like Fellaini simply bcos he's too **** to play for any other top club.

You are laying the blame of his lack of form squarely at the manager's feet. I don't buy that! Players lose form all the time, and never have I heard that it is the manager's fault. My point is, Di Maria needs to bare responsibility for his demise and blame no one else. Shame way LvG should not blame the players for his lack of success. Every man must take responsibility for their role in their own destiny. That is all.

Fellaini! Yes, he is absolutely not one of the more gifted players in the square but what I do admire is his effort when on the pitch. Again, effort, not skill! Effort that we lacked at West Ham, especially in the middle of the park. Let's be clear on that distinction without making it out as though I have his name tattooed on my forehead.

Di Maria played with as much effort as Fellaini, but his game didn't rely on elbowing others and giving away free kicks. He was technically able and therefore other big clubs wanted him. Fellaini is a talentless donkey. Fellaini has done nothing of note and certainly hasn't shown any more loyalty than Di Maria. The only reason he's still at United is bcos he's grateful to be playing at a big club as no other big club will ever want him.

So what's the difference? One player is too **** to leave so gets applauded for playing with effort. While another player plays with the same effort, is a technically better player, however because he's wasted, has the luxury of playing for another club that might meet his expectations?

The fact is that had we had a better manager who knew how to bring the best out in Di Maria, chances are Di Maria might still be with us and Fellaini would be at Stoke.

Hey, I wouldn't call playing in a league where the championship is won by 31 points "meet his expectations". Leaving United for PSG ain't a step up. And I get it, you disdain Fellaini to the core and you absolutely find LvG repulsive. Yet I don't see how existence of those two characters somehow gets Di Maria a clean bill of zero responsibility. Why do you insist on blaming everything but the man himself for his lack of success? I don't get your case in point here. Same way I wouldn't accept that Martial and Rashford somehow owe LvG some sort of credit. They earned where they are themselves and owe it to nobody! Same goes for Memphis who is on a different end of the scale.

It arguably is for the top players when LVG has us scrabbling for the Europa whilst PSG are consistently reaching the last eight of the CL.

Di Maria obviously came to Utd expecting to be at the forefront of a major revival in the club's fortunes. Hard to blame him for wanting out when he was shoved onto the periphery of some of the worst football we have played since the 70s.

That doesn't give Di Maria a "clean bill of zero responsibility", but LVG has to take a major share of the blame for his poor management of the player, and the team in general.
