It was great to see young James exercising his right to not wear a poppy during the Wigan match against Bolton.

I can only imagine the intense feeling of pride this gives to serving and retired British servicemen who, in serving Queen and Country, fought hard to allow him to make such a brave choice, not to mention the brave fallen and deceased from WWI and WWII.

McClean's heartfelt and honest account of why he would prefer not to wear a poppy is below, and i'm sure collectively we will all applaud him.
