James Beattie - class act

    This osrt of thing happens quite often. Getting that first managerial job is hard. There are thousands of retired players and out of work managers that are looking for a job as high up as they can. Even L2 is in that 'dream' category of managing one of the teams in the Football League. Therefore first time managers do tend to have to keep hold of jobs if they can if they are at that level.

    When Chris Sutton got the Lincoln City job (a few seasons before they got relegated to the conference) it is rumoured he actually had to make a 'contribution' to the club to get the job. 6 figures is what I hear. Lots of other cases of it I should think.

    Those 92 managerial positions are very sought after.

    James Beattie is my favourite ever Southampton player, I just can't see what people dislike about him. He has a cocky side to his personality, yes, but he always has a laugh with the media, he handles himself well, he was lethal for Southampton, he hated the skates. He's a legend ffs!
