Well done Jake very proud of you and I am sure dad would be very happy also.

I know an old friend sends his congrats also it started rocky with this person, but he always said you where quality

You make it sound like he's on this forum!

Wasn't ideal, conceding the second he came on. Think the timing of the substitution by Koeman can be questioned.
Once he got on though I think he got himself about well. Similar to the rest of the team, great movement outside the box without that cutting edge. A good platform to work from for him.

How must the lad have felt, coming on against Man U in a packed St. Mary's? The stuff of dreams, and he did fine in the time he was on. His confidence will grow the more chances he gets.

I seriously wonder about people sometimes. How the heck was the timing of the substitution wrong?

As much as I am please for Jake, I really feel sorry for Harrison Reed as he keeps being overlooked even during an injury crisis that has decimated our midfield
He must be looking at things and considering his future as RK obviously doesn't rate him
I have seen him play for Saints and England and am surprised at his exclusion to be honest

Always great to see nippers given a chance to break through into the first team?
I would always support the introduction of a youngster, rather than persist with some Bertie Big Bollocks only interested in the pay cheque.
By the way how's Osvaldo doing lately?

I'm sure Reed is chomping at the bit, but I don't think players throw their dummies out of the pram as easily as fans do. He is getting on the bench at the club he has been at for years, he's thinking that he's on the verge of the team. If he has anything about him, he will be asking what more he can do...how can I improve. Would he get any more chances at a team comparable to us? Does he want to make a move to a lesser side? He knows he has to be patient.

I think Reed is more defensive than Jake which isnt what we have needed when its been time to bhring a sub on.

Hopefully Sims will be next, then bring in McCarthy who can play rb/cb.

is Sims even starting for the U21s yet? against united he came on with barely a couple of minutes left IIRC.

You're kidding, right? I know you like a good 'debate' but surely you can see this?

Its not a question of hindsight. You're asking someone to be 100% switched on the instant he comes onto the pitch. I'm not suggesting that the goal was his fault but when a sub comes on there is always an element of reorganising, otherwise what is the point.

You don't want to be reorganising when a tricky free-kick is about to be taken.
