A lot of news articles claiming that we are close to agreeing a 33m deal for the Colombian striker from Porto.

Must say that even though the fee is a little steep for a 27 year old who can't play in the Champions League for us, he is a talent from what I have seen of him. Pace, power, a bit of flair and knows where the goal is.

My preference would be for Falcao or Suarez due to them being able to play in Europe but if we go down the route of a cup-tied striker, then maybe Martinez can be a great signing, if we do complete it that is.
 
We want to win the League and Torres likes Europe. I see no problem.

quoted is hefty tag.. hell it is always high for us..

can someone think of highly priced Jan signings working out ever?
 
Most reports of imminent signings are miles off the mark. Like always, we have to wait and see. Personally I am still hoping to read about a new midfield controlling player, but not a peep.
