I believe Hargreaves was born in Canada to South African parents. He only was eligible to play for England through his Grandmother. He was also eligible to play for Germany as he was part of Bayern Munichs setup from around the age of 15.

I think players need to have a connection to the country they're playing for. The United States has a few players now that are born and raised in Germany as Germans, but qualify to play for the United Stares because their fathers were American. I'm not a big fan of this policy, although we do benefit from having a pool of more talented players at our disposable. Only 1-2 of them regularly start though.

I don't think the German contingent plays with the same amount of pride the American guys do. We haven't had too many backs to the walls scenarios where the German guys have had to fight to the death, and the times we have its been the young American players who rise to the occasion.

Adnan should play for England, we need a decent player in the team, while we are at it, can we sign Ronaldo as well, he will do the English team a world of good

Matth again with his misquoted lies. You are as bad as the fail Matth. You see one post from one fan of another club and then make a thread here saying it's all of their fans. Nonsense. Now you are saying things Wilshire did not actually say

The lad only arrived in England 2 years ago as a 16 year old ffs. he would have to wait another 5 years!! to play for England <laugh>

if the guy arrived in England 10 years ago as an 8 year old I could understand it but that is not the case it's ridiculous, the 5 year residency rule is bollox anyway. International football might as well pack it in if this kid can play for England.

Besides, Belgium have a better team than England, he'd be a nut choosing England

I completely agree with him and the rule should change.

Neither should Wilshere until he gets his fitness back and shows he has remembered how to pass to white shirts.

Bin laden qualified some years ago, and the idea was blown up out of all proportions. Then the Americans got involved , and shot the idea in the head

Maybe they should have standard rules throughout the England sporting codes...

The cricket team would be useless without the foreign imports!
