Last season we brought young Jack here from Plymouth for whom he had played a few games.

Since then we have hardly heard about him and how he has fared. Has anybody seen him playing for the Under 21's and how good does he look?
With Butterfield injured could he step in if required, or does Harding have to cover?

The U21's don't play games on a regular basis and when they do, its behind closed doors so it's hard to judge. You can't underestimate his ability because a handfull of premier league clubs were after him and he made his first senior appearence with Saints on Saturday.

He's only 17 so I can't see him featuring in the league this season. And it's Stephens by the way.

Yes so it is. Sorry Jack Stephens.

Talking of which can a Thread Title be corrected?

Mods can correct them, but I'm not sure if everyone can. On the main Southampton page, double-click just to the right of the thread title - and if you are able to correct it, then the edit box will appear. If not, then I'll do it for you (if you want me to).

Stephens is going to be class, think he'll be our 2nd choice very soon.

I know we had a lot of competition when we signed him and he came here because of our Academy's reputation. Got a feeling you might well be right there Beef_Dripping.

I think Butterfield will be edged out bit by bit. Letting Jack have more and more game time etc.

Stephens is going to be our Premier League right back - very highly rated, although suffered a major knee injury earlier this season which is why we haven't heard much about him

Look you lot lets not get picky we all know who he is talking about

No one likes the Grammar Police, but equally as annoying are people who keep pointing them out. I just thought he might like to know that his name is spelt an alternate way. Knowledge is power and all that.

Stupid but I only needed to check on the OS to get the correct spelling. Just hope some weren't expecting to hear about somebody else.

Occasional typos are understandable, but every time I post, in fact, wherever I've written anything, I've tried to make sure I've spelled everything correctly, and made it understandable to the reader. I do it because I respect the fact that the reader doesn't want to venture through an obstacle course, but would rather read a reasonably well written paragraph or two. If I do this, I hope other posters will do the same for me. Nice of you to take the trouble. It's appreciated. ;)
