Now, we all know not to take everything that's on Twitter or in the sun as gospel.

Alan Nixon has said that Hibs are interested in making Jack Ross their next manager, if and when they get rid of their current one.

Thoughts?

Not for me. Not while we're a gentle underarm stones throw away from the automatic promotion spots.

It would make sense tbh. Even if he's told his job is safe initially under new owners he'll know that anything other than top two will see him out with reputation tarnished. An opportunity to move now would save SAFC having to pay him off, it would mean he could walk away saying he was in the promotion mix when he left, Hibs would get someone who is still seen as a good up and coming manager who has done well in Scotland. Don't think it'll happen, Ross seems quite ambitious and I think he'd rather stay here and hope to succeed, but him moving would make a fair bit of sense

Absolutely. Big Sam was on sky and was directly asked about coming back. In no uncertain terms he said “no”

I wouldn’t want him back anyhow tbh. Sour taste when he left

To be fair I thought he said "no, not at this moment in time" or something along those lines, as opposed to just "no". That could just be him being diplomatic, maybe if FPP take over he'd be happy to come here like **** off a stick! I'm not sure I'd want him back like, but if these new owners are serious about getting us back to the PL and being competitive there, you'd get plenty of managers willing to come here, especially if there's a nice "promotion to the PL" bonus for them.

Absolutely. But right now, who would we get? We’d get another hopeful who would have to start again. I didn’t blame Ross fir the second half on Saturday. That said, bringing on Will Grigg when we need a worker and a “run himself into the ground” type player made no sense.

I want Ross to stay, particularly, as mentioned above, as we’re close to the promotion spots. I’m one of these not bothered about performance but result. If we win every game as a nervy 2-1 we win the league. I’d be happy with that.

The arrogance of some saying ‘we’re Sunderland, we should brush these teams aside easily” annoys the hell out of me. We are where we are as we deserve it, we have no right to claim better side, bigger club we may be, but a better team we aren’t.
