If Cairney stopped passing the ball babk to Hobbs so much he may not have to distribute so much. On one occasion Cairney skinned 4 of their team and went on a charge upfield. If he did it more often or even played a forward pass( after all he is the playmaker) then Hobbs will be under less pressure. Hobbs aint great but he is ok.
I wasn't enamored with Hobbs last season & last night he didn't do anything to change that! My worry is that now NP has made him captain he will play every week regardless of his form! I also second what a lot of people have already said . . . if we sign Ayala & NP drops Chester to keep Hobbs in the side i might just die a little bit inside!
dont worry guys, hobbs was pathetic in his first few games for us- love him and be patient for 3ish games without getting and his back and he will be outstanding. By getting on his, he will feel like he has to do outstanding, thats when he is poor. Give hit little attention and the occasion praise and he will settle back to his 'passenger' CB style (i.e. the type of CB that goes unnoticed as he just goes about his business efficiently and quietly) and he is one of the bets in division.
