Gills fan in peace <cheers>

Just wondered if any of you good folk could let me know on your thoughts on Jack Bonham please? He's just signed a two year deal with us but have to profess to say I don't know an awful lot about him. Any responses are welcomed <ok>

In all seriousness, he is a very good keeper. He kept something like 17 or 18 clean sheets. Not bad for a team who has struggled all season and were among the relegation zone for 2 thirds of the season. He has won us many points on his own. He was one of the reasons why we stayed up, along with our striker who joined at the end of the Jan transfer window (Clarke-Harris) who scored that cracker at your place when we won 1-0 - another clean sheet! Without Bonham and our striker, we would have been down by April. Some of Bonham's saves were outstanding and would have been highlighted as worldly if he was at Man Utd or Barca for example. He is prone to the odd mistake though. He drops the ball occasionally which has then lead to us conceding goals. But he is young and will learn from that. I would love to have him back and although he makes the odd mistake, he was very reliable for us. We did offer him a contract but he chose yourselves. Fair enough, closer to home as he is a London lad.

Appreciate the reply Captain Jack. We only found out last night whilst attending a Q&A with our new esteemed manager. Feel that announcing him during the Q&A was an early softener to help appease some of the room towards him.

I do not like your manager. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way but he has made a very good signing in Bonham <ok>
