Don't bring up Game Of Thrones please, I'm still distraught after last night's awfulness
That was one of the most unpleasant things I've experienced on TV and they only played the sounds...
I've generally got a pretty high shock threshold, and despite some of the outrageous things have have gone on in the show thus far nothing had really rattled or distrubed me in any way at all, however last night's went a bit too far, I absolutely hated it and almost turned it off halfway through. Perhaps the fact I've got a young daughter myself made it worse for me, but I can't begin to imagine how anyone could find that entertaining, and I also struggle to imagine how anyone could write that scene and sleep at night.
It was made even worse when I realised that bit didn't happen in the books, much like all the rape scenes in it so far which makes me wonder what kind of sick fukcs are tinkering with the storyline for their own kicks?

Some of the scenes are worse in the books, some are exaggerated in the series.
I'm happy the series is different to the books in some places, keeps me on my toes!

It only didn't happen in the books because the books haven't got that far. Apparently there was an interview with Martin afterwards, who confirmed that the scene was an intention in the next book
I just roll with the punches with Game of Thrones now.
I do quite like that the show is different from the books, it's just a shame that the show's storyline has been a bit weak this season. The whole Dorne escapade felt like a complete waste of time.

Yeah I heard this too. Apparently he pushed for this to be included in the TV show.
I really couldn't concentrate on anything that happened after this. Although the ending did remind me of the neverending story
You'd have to assume as much. Still didn't enjoy it. Didn't feel the same quality as the rest of the series.
That said, episode 8 was probably the best from all 5 seasons so far, so I'll take the good with the bad.
I'll be honest I found the second part of episode 8, the part everyone was raving about a bit boring and a waste of 20 odd minutes. We've known the Walkers are coming since the first episode, so why the need for a 20 minute CGI hack n slash where the storyline wasn't really progressed much - I'd rather they'd spend the time on the downfall of Sersei, or some more between Reek and Sansa. Can't believe there's only one episode left!!
Also got a feeling there might be more happen in Dorne, I expect some serious bloodshed in the finale and wouldn't be surprised if Tyrion was the only remaining Lannister by the end....
Also I reckon Sersei will convince them to let her have a trial by combat, at which point The Mountain (with whatever they've been doing to him) re-enters the fray....

I agree with you to an extent about the 25 minutes of North of the Wall conflict, seemed a little more than was perhaps needed, even if it was also probably the best choreographed fight sequence I've seen on the show (Just ahead of The Battle of Castle Black). This season has felt strangely void of characters to me. We've been treated to many great set pieces with lots of characters all interacting throughout the show, but this season has jumped between about 4 or 5 places and followed pretty much the same characters (Jamie and Bronn, Tyrion and Jorah, Arya and Jaquen, Sansa and Reek/Ramsey and Roose, Cercei and Tommen) I loved the interplay between the characters at Kings Landing and it feels like a lot of that has gone.
I imagine something will finally happen with Cercei, the Tyrells and the Faith in the last episode. Hopefully Dorne will become more interesting (Doran does seem like a bit of a bad arse, so he can't possibly last much longer). And **** is gunna go down on the Wall!

The comment about following too few characters rings true, but thats in part because they've combined characters from the books into one show character, and cut other book characters out. For example the character of Jon Connington seems to have been mushed into Jorah's character.
