As far as i'm concerned the deal to bring Defoe to the SOL was the best business the club have done this century. We got rid of a donkey and brought in a thoroughbred and Defoe has been the most consistent player since his arrival. I wouldn't begrudge him moving on to salvage his international career, he's earned it.

West Ham or Bournemouth will sign him.

If Wenger stays at Arsenal, he should be all over Defoe.

Id like to see that happen. One last big shot.

For somebody to score so many goals and have no trophies to show for it, is a crime.

Liverpool could replace Sturridge with him, Arsenal could take him... it'd be a shame for him to end up at Bournemouth for his swansong.

I wouldn't be resistant to having him here, but we already have an older striker.

JD is a legend here in such a short time. When we were relegated in the early 2000's, I was one who slated the likes of Sorensen etc for wanting to leave - just about all of the players handed in transfer requests after getting us relegated. Defoe is one person who you can;t say contributed to our relegation - he's tried his hardest to ensure it won't happen but has been badly let down elsewhere.

There is still a little hope in some but it's all gone from me. Defoe will go with my blessing - just hope it's not to West Ham!!

Good luck to him == wouldn't blame him at all. Surely any footballer who loves to play games (as opposed to just pick up the money) wants to be involved at the top, rather than be forgotten amongst a potentially struggling lower league club.

His selection for England has certainly dented our slim chances of keeping him for the championship. I was of the hope that, due to his advancing years, he may have settled for second rate football in the championship, a way of gently winding down his career. After all, you could argue that was his intention when he dickied off to the States. Cant see that happening now.

He's made it clear he wants to go to the World Cup.

Is he good enough right now to go to the world cup with England? Yes.

He has to choose his next club carefully, because being on the bench will do nothing for him, but a bigger club will offer him other incentives, such as pay and the chance of a winners medal.

I speak as if you're already relegated, but in my opinion nothing is done yet in this league aside from the winner, but I think he'll go regardless of where you end up after 38 games.

Our fans want Benitez to make a move for him in the summer apparently, presuming we swap divisions:

Can't see it happening, but if you're interested we could sweeten the deal by sending your way a certain ginger midfield playmaker?

Kick and man while they're down ffs.

May as well butt **** me and nick my shoes while your at it.

The number to my bank card is my dob. Take it. Take it all.
