What if they fully expected a backlash? What if they stoked it up with the denials etc to get the maximum impact? Why would they do that? Total guess, what if they're wanting to show they're prepared to go against peoples feelings? If they've been playing the "we'll move out" game, this is not a bad card to play to show public feeling's not a barrier. In which case, the Council and Hull FC should be more concerned than us. We'll be some oddity in the sticks. FC won't exist and the Council will have some seats stored around a grass field.
I was backing the allams only a few weeks ago saying the name change won't happen etc, how wrong was I, for that I apologise especially to the loyal fans of many years that I had a heated debate with and who clearly knew more than me. I'm truly shocked at the decision and it hasn't sunk in, what upset's me the most is that they got Nick Thompson to blatantly lie to the media and all of us fans, if he was not told to lie and was misinformed surely that makes his position untenable. Bottom line the Allam's have shat on us, they didn't consult the fans one bit and I think it's morally wrong. However Hull City Tigers I can live with, but if he's goes the next step as quoted on the Hull Daily Mail and change our name to "Hull Tigers" then that is a name i'm no way happy with. What I cannot understand is the timing of the announcement and the change literally a week before we start what's arguably going to be a very hard season back in the premier league, the city is buzzing with premier league football guaranteed for another season at the very least but because of a very stupid decision by our owners the focus is elsewhere. Let's get behind the team but at the same time try and make a valid point that we are not happy with the way us fans have been treated. UTT Lewis
I hope not, i've spent most of the afternoon arguing with rovers supporters after the derby I cannot take anymore for a Sunday.
To be honest who really gives a fook hull city afc, hull city tigers, hull tigers... We as supporters should support the team no matter what the majority of people who are moaning are the ones with the gash tats in the paper tough **** you should have gone to a decent tattooist... I have supported hull for over 20 years and have been through thick and thin so a name change does not bother we have owners who have bailed us out we are in the premier league again and have a decent team stop fooking moaning and support the team... And to all the other moaners who say they can't afford to foot the Chelsea game or other over priced premier league away games get a grip and just cut back like not going out for a weeken which woul easily pay for your ticket just fooking fickle fans again and if I hear anyone slag the team off at the KC i will be the one getting chucked out because I am sick and tired of the fickle fans who class them selves as supporters but they are not just bandwagoners..... There rant over
I agree it was the worst possible time to announce such a thing, 1 week before our first game of the season. The Allams would have decided about the name change months ago so why not announce it once we won promotion? Surely that would have been the best thing to do, there's then time to see how the fans would respond and act accordingly.. They've gone about this in such a devious and deceitful way that I can only see one way for them to fix it and that would be to scrap their idea completely and apologize to us fans.

Oh do **** off. A LOT of people care about the name. Look through this thread for goodness sake. And calling people who can't go to games like the Chelsea one because of lack of money 'fickle fans' and calling them bandwagoners is ****ing disgraceful mate. Get a ****ing grip. People who have gone to City for decades but can't go to Chelsea because it costs ridiculous sums are fickle? Jesus ****ing Christ.
So what would you suggest fans like myself who aren't working, go without food for a month, don't pay any household bills or rent and end up on the street? Get a ****ing grip before posting. I've been a fan since the 68/69 season, I was a season pass holder until I couldn't afford one. Don't you think i'd like to go to the games regardless of which league we're in?
How is it disgraceful then???? Just stay in for a weekend then people will be able to go to games and support there club..... Many so called hull supporters moan for the sake of moaning and never get behind their team when it is needed the most like the Cardiff game... That was the best atmosphere for a long time why can't it be like that for every game..... Fooking fickle fans thy is why!!!
You don't realise how much of a **** you sound, do you? Amazingly not every fan has hundreds of pounds lying around every week to spend on away games. If you think we do, get your head out of your ****ing arse. This is the real world.
Chelsea Ticket £50, Train £50, Few Beers £15 total = £115 merely pocket change for the wealthy folk of Hull. Cut back on your heating bill you peasants get your priorities right
You do realise that not all Hull City fans are under 26 single males with no dependants who's entire disposable income goes on Alcohol? You know that right?
Ignoring the fact some people have to stay in at weekends to meet their day to day needs before they can think of giving money to Chelsea, and others work or have family commitments, I'm intrigued to hear how, if everyone took your advice, you'd get 20,000 fans in a 4,000 capacity stand.
I have no tatoo's, i am no bandwagon'er, i can afford to go to Chelsea, and i really don't agree with the name change. Just because someone can change a name doesn't mean they should. Don't judge people just because they don't agree with your opinion.
Chelsea's ticket 50 tiger travel 30 so there is 20 quid saved already yes I know it is expensive but if you know a game is coming up like for many months you save money and cut back on nights out and beers STOP SMOKING that should save a a ****e loads of money!!
Eh?? People would have great difficulty staying in at the weekend enabling them to go to games, how does that work? Ah I get it now, you're an armchair supporting troll Do one!
