If Barca come knocking with £35m we should be biting their hands of and I'm 100% positive Jose would.

Luiz would be an ideal signing for the likes of Barca and Bayern because their league is dominated by the said teams. They keep the ball all game and rarely get troubled at the back. Premier League is entirely different and Luiz's style does not suit this league.

I would however, keep Luiz if we plan to use him in midfield as I believe he's a very talented footballer - he just can't defend for ****.

He can get bored and lose concentration in Regular P rem games but in big CL games against technical players (Bayern Barca) he can up his game. Is he simply more of a big game player?

Possibly mate, but do we really want a 'big game centre half'? It's all good having an attacking player who steps up in big games but they don't cost you points.

The y do when they can't get the job done against West Ham and West Brom.

If the likes of Oscar, Etoo, Willian and Ramires. (I will leave Hazard out as he has been magnificent recently) had done their job and put West Brom away, then we would not even be talking about Luiz making a mistake, which for me he is not only reponsible for.

Ivanovic, Ramires, Cahill, Cech all had their part to play in conceding that goal as well as Luiz.

The first two stood still to let the cross come in, Cahill should not have come back on injured, if ivanovic was moved to centre back, he would have cut that out as he would have been marking Anichebe, not Luiz. And Cech is getting no blame for this yet he comes flying out only to change his mind at the decisive moment. Ideally a catalogue of errors between several players, a bad day but not completely catastrophic.

    We move onwards and upwards!!!

The defence has been brilliant recently. It's the attacking lot (bar Hazard) who need to up their game more to secure wins in these tight games. Conceding 1 away from home is not bad, we should have easily scored 2 or 3 and won.

I think perhaps tiredness is creeping in and leading to some inconsistency. Willian, Oscar and Eto'o have played a lot of games recently and maybe more game time should have been given to Schurrle, Salah etc. Torres being back gives us some options too.

i think were all being way too harsh on our defenders and midfielders here imo its clear to see, especially in our last game our front four needs to work more to put CONSISTENT pressure on opponents. The game against WBA want drawn because they had a lucky counterattack in the last 5 mins and bullied our backline, it was lost because past 60 mins we couldn't get the ball to their end of the field and create CLEAR CUT chances. furthermore we dont hve a striker like droga who can make the ball stick and relieve pressure. we didnt crack because our players arent good enough, but because they were all over us for aprolonged amount of time-any team would struggle in those circumstances.

my answer? play demba ba, he can hold th ball up and hed hardly be a downgrade on eto'o, who utd aside has been so ****e its unreal.

Good point Floyd about striker holding possession; as for apportioning blame for the goal it was Cech's fault for hesitating at the last second - I've said it before: since Hunts assault Cech hasn't shown the same command of his area and has been psychologically damaged.
