its getting boring reading comments about Wigleys connection with Dowie while at City in our final weeks of prem football.
I will say one thing about the Dowie /Wigley partnership then , we was "in" all but one game we played in under them .
Also the squad Dowie and Wigley had to keep the club in the prem was IMO worse than the squad we have now (bar JvoH).

think you're the only one percy. Mr Barmby seems to be leaning towards working with those he has done in the past - and to try to judge a coach on what happened at the club when we were doomed to relegation is wrong. Even Mr Alex Ferguson could not have prevented us going down.
Overall I think 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of fans are happy with the coaching/management team we have at the moment.

Great appointment in my opinion. Wigley will bring a lot of experience to the coaching staff and also has done a lot of work with young players in the past.

I'm a bit confused - says on ows that he's joined as first team coach. Where does that leave Watkiss?

Watkiss was just a coach I think, not the first team coach. I may be wrong though.

Watkins and Barmby used to run the reserves, since NP left both having been doing the first team. I imagine now Wigley is here, Watkiss will go back and mainly concentrate on the reserves and help out with the first team when needed and on match days.

As others have said Watkiss dealt mainly with the reserves, but I don't see why you couldn't have two first team coaches. I thought "first team coach" just meant they focussed on the senior players where "coaches" assisted with first team but mainly took care of the YTS players/first year pros in the reserves.
