    Hulse = Rush! <laugh>

I'd like to see Cerny in again. He looked marginally better in the few games he played to me. The competition may get Paddy sharper.

THIS THREAD Its time to play Cerny

Is it a board game? or is it similar to Charades where you pick up a bit of gossip then act the drama until you are either found to be correct and ITK or you are repeatedly dunked in a mug of tea by a half man half biscuit

Unless Kenny is incapable of playing I would always pick him ahead of Cerny. Paddy is so much better at organising the defence and so much more vocal in doing so. So not only is Cerny hesitant, but the whole back 4 becomes tentative.

IMHO neither of them will be our first choice next year. Call me old-fashioned if you like but Paddy is just too small. We need a big dominant keeper who can claim a ball in the air. Paddy has flapped at severl balls this year and last due to his lack of height. Sad but true.

I reckon we will get a new goalie in the summer but could see Paddy staying. and after two rebuilds in 6 / 7 months, it will be good to see what MH can do once he has a pre-season in which to work with his squad

Can't believe Paddy being blamed for goals v Villa or Wolves.
1st goal v Villa was a cross from six yards out and Bent just got a toe in front of our defender to flick it in.
Yesterday 1st goal very well placed in the far corner and the 2nd went through the legs of one of the defenders again from about 6 yrds

So, yet another game where 2 shots on goal = 2 goals.

Has anyone else realised the fact that Kenny is costing us massively in every game he plays?

Don't see what he could have done for either of the goals. Was bad defending/tracking.

Paddy seems to get the blame for EVERY goal now. As Madge says above there were FAR worse offenders for those 2 goals than Paddy. Not saying Cerny shouldn't be given a chance but don't just blame Kenny EVERY TIME.

He hasnt made a good save since he replaced Cerny. If in one game you have 2 shots and 2 goals, you cant write it off as unlucky. In 12 games, when every shot on goal not straight at the keeper goes in, its pretty clear you have an awful goalie or one that is so crippled that he cant do his job. Cerny pulled off 5 saves in the Liverpool game alone that Kenny would have let in.

Playing Cerny all season would have meant wed be up with Villa and co. Now we have to allow fewer shots against than goals we score to have a chance of winning.

Methinks that there may be a problem with Cerny that we don't know about.

I think flyer have a point there. Kenny has shown his best shot in this level and it was not enough. It is now Cernys or Murphys time to show. I bet sparky regrets that he did not bought a goalie in january...............

I look back at last season and remember being so grateful on so many occasions for the many marvellous saves that Paddy made. It's very easy to criticise the individual components of last season's defence but Paddy, almost single-handedly, made our defensive stats look fantastic.

I contrast that with this season. I can't honestly remember Paddy making a breath-taking save. I have been very impressed by many of the goal-keepers I have seen this season, including those amongst the relegation candidates, but I have not been impressed by Paddy. He must be carrying an injury.

I wish I were convinced that Cerny would be a better bet but he's been used sparingly this season so the evidence is unconvincing and his last full season was not impressive.

I believe Kenny haven't done a single breath-taking save during this season.

Play Murphy then, he cannot do worse than Kenny.

Playing Kenny is like playing Vine instead of Cisse.
