That 433 formation makes me nervous - I think we'd be a bit exposed with only three CMs on the pitch.
I think we're a lot exposed with only ten outfield players and one goalie. Could we perhaps consider bringing subs on but not taking anybody off and see if the ref notices?
There's nothing wrong with 4-3-3. I just don't agree with the personnel that Yappy has in certain positions. 3 central midfield players should actually make us more solid and give us more possession. Barton, Henry and Taarabt could work, with Vargas, Austin and Zarate ahead of them.
Taarabt wants the ball all of the time and will keep trying to do something inventive with it You want to attack then Taarabt has to play If he leaves him out then it's curtains … just the buzz the crowd will have could be enough to lift the club He has to play
I'm not particularly confident in our substitutes either. Perhaps we can play a marching band - at least they can stick to a formation and are playing from the same hymn sheet.
I put Fer in the middle because I don't think he's happy on the side. OK so if Adel is willing and able he should go in instead of Hoilett. But this is for the time being. We don't have a quick enough LB, so why not? We have to wait for Yun, and he could be another month or more. Unless we get another defender on loan. Joey should only come in as a sub when the others tire.
Don't think the system is relevant to our performances but more so the players and tactics used within the system. However you line up generally the team with better players wins
Bobby has been dire of late; I am afraid our opponents have worked out that he cannot/will not jump and just crowd him out. He came on when we were chasing the game on Saturday and gave away fouls and the ball on several occasions. What Charlie needs is balls played in front of him in the box from wide positions. This is where your wide players come in. It is crazy that we have SWP,Matt Philips and Hoillet who are all wide players and yet none of them can get in the team because they are so bad. Harry would rather try Vargas ( a reluctant winger) or even push up Traore than play either of those three wide. The more I think about that it really is scandalous don't you think?
Bobby has been dire as of late? How long is this bad run of form of his? Does it just consist of that substitute appearance or does go back further? How much further? Also, when he was on good form, what were his virtues at that time? I'd be interested to know what you think he contributes, especially before this supposed bad run of form.
Maybe we should try 0-0-10 like Sampdoria http://blog.foxsoccer.com/post/107335956152/sampdoria-kick-off-in-bold-0-0-10-formation-it
Especially considering we seem to punt the ball up to where he'd be on the pitch whether he's playing or not.
If I wanted to see 0-0-10, I'd look at the league table and I can promise you that I'm very actively avoiding that.
I do not harbour any great expectations from Bobby to be honest. He is getting on for 34 now and clearly has serious injury problems as he cannot do a full 90 mins. He set up a goal against Villa and had caused Liverpool plenty of trouble earlier in the season, but as I said opponents have worked it out now, and he does not really have the scope to change the way he plays at this stage of his career. In my opinion he is really a player who should be used to give Charlie a breather. I have never seen them as a duo and would prefer to see Vargas playing off Charlie or Bobby.
Well it's time now for it, surely, Sir Les! ---------------- Green ------------------------ Isla-------Onouha-------Dunne-------Yun Fer----------Taraabt--------------Hoilett Vargas---------Austin--------Zarate Going with movement, passing, overlapping, holding onto the ball, and attacking. The formation is just a label, not set, they don't stay in their corners, the front 6 must work with each other, overlap and criss-cross as needed. As well as Isla and Yun out wide. When defending - well it's team defense. They all have to get back and cut out the lanes and chase them down. It's time for a change, so we might as well do it now, a complete change.
Because of the personnel we have: -------------------- Green ------------------------ -----Onouha-----Dunne------ Caulker ------ Isla---------------------------------------------Yun ---------- Barton ---------- Fer------------------ ----Vargas/Taarabt --- Zarate/Kankjar ---- -------------------- Austin ------------------------ If Fer doesn't do his share of defending then bring in Sandro for 1-2 games before gets injured again.
We must re establish the number 10 role and we have four players who can do that imo Taarabt Fer Nico and Vargas ... Let them play No time to worry about losing now we have to go for it Our defensive players will only shine when our attacking play takes the pressure away from them Harold built bollocks Establish the method to hurt other teams with attack minded football imo ... The last time we did this was in our championship season The level of confidence and performance grew to a very high level we have the players
