TBH I've never followed anyone he's been with close enough to really say, sorry. Obviously he's won many things across a range of clubs so his man management & strategies must be above average. Many are saying he spends big but they omit to say that these purchases would have been signed off by the board concerned. What I can say is that when I interview a prospective employee these are skills I look for. They need to demonstrate an ability to plan. Prior to an appointment being made, a board will present a written mission statement which they will ensure is adhered to too ensure the financial security of the organisation going forward. The hardest assignment is to hit the ground running without upsetting the existing staff when a new boss is appointed so that they donât fall further behind from the position of their predecessor. In football, the staff have big egos & earn obscene amounts of money regardless of whether they contribute or not. The new manager will have to get the current staff & players onside quickly to take the pressure off as many will have alternative ideas. A number will be asked to leave by the end of January as theyâll be some thatâll be disruptive to the task at hand. Anyhow, what would I know about managing a professional sports club. I guess thatâs what keeps my love of the beautiful game burning after all these years as I don't have to run one. At the end of the day I live for my family and will never allow the results of a football match on the other side of the world consume me for more than 10 minutes but Iâll always KTF.
Haha, never my intentional. Not bad, I completely forgot I put the bet on, until I checked Betfair for odd's on the sacking at the weekend, only to find I already have get on it. Moyes net spend is about £15,500,000, give or take a few million(way too early). Pulis has spent a lot though, didn't think he spent anywhere near what he has. Yeah most do, but surprised me how much O'Neill has signed. Obviously some very good players as well mind. I think it's completely different for Chelsea/ City, they both have billionaire owners who basically have endless amounts of money, unlike Villa(O'neill's downfall there) and Sunderland. Wouldn't go near Redknapp with a 10 foot pole, with how ****e he is at money with clubs, screwed almost everyone he's managed, the downfall of spending too much, for what the club/ owners can afford. £70,000,000 spent on Sunderland squad in the past 3 season, down to how much will O'neill, want or need to add to that. Wouldn't be the first time he ran from a club because he didn't get his own way. Signing of O'neill (should it happen) does seem a bit better now though, still not worried.
Moyes net spend is about 25 million, so i was way off with that, but he has spent 142 million in his time there. But then you say we/Bruce have spent 70 million but Bruces net spent is +13 million or there abouts over the 3 years, so you cant really have 1 rule for 1 and 1 rule for another. Either we do it on net spend or we do it just on outlay. Rooney Lescott Artetta helps Moyes out a lot as well (selling them that is, on his net spend) as thats 70 million ish for 3 players.
