two seasons now, histories great and all, but i'd like to be doing well in the present. That's the thing i live my life in after all.
I have to say that the contents of the 'Shoot' article are comical. I was really disappointed by the Norwich performance. Please don't blame Stoke for the way your team played. I did not think we were the physical team yesterday. Look at the stats. Norwich committed more fouls and IMHO got away with a lot more. I do not know what Crouch has to do to get a freekick. He was being continually pushed , bumped, and pulled back. Two bookings for Norwich which were quite justified. I do not believe that we drew you into a particular game. I expected your team to come and play football which sadly you just did not do. Norwich were poor this Saturday. This had nothing to do with Stoke. If Paul Lambert tried to change things he made a mistake. I hope for your club, he learns from it. He has done a tremendous job for your club and Delia. I remain impressed by the progress from conceding 7 goals in an opening game about 2 years ago? Also if anybody had a bad experience of their trip I can only aplogise for some idiots that we and the majority of clubs have following them.
Seem's that Norwich just can not accept defeat without complaing about "our style" and HOW come not one well informed Norwich fan, many on here claim to have watched it. Like myself and Waddo.. we we're there. What do you about say that shirt pulling by Holt? Anyone else see that because I did as did MOTD last night! You lost stop trying to find excuse's and blaming another team, simply because you we're not good enough. As for Jon Walters getting abuse yesterday... fair enough but he gave it back and some. He is by some distance our most consistant player this season. I've also just read the thread on here re Holt for England.. you are joking right?
i didnt defend holts shirt pulling. I said you deserved to win. I said we were terrible. I said you deserve respect for having established yourselves in the prem. I can do all that and still think the style you played (and we tried to copy) is not much fun to watch. Can't i?
Battersea YOU can say whatever you please... But, I don't have to agree with everything you say or do I? What style is that Battersea because, Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool have all FAILED to beat us at home this season. Funny thing is, they didn't mention the way we play. They just got on with it because unlike Norwich, they are not afraid to put a foot in, play hard from time to time.. mix it up i.e. sometimes play it long etc? Paul L obviously thinks that your'e "football" and nothing else will keep you up Battersea. It will this season but like us, West Brom and and many before. IF you do not change your'e "style" whatever that is. I fear next season will not be as good for Norwich as this one so far has been. Teams work you out simple as. It's like fans copy and paste comments.. eg.. we are physical, we play hoofball.. HAD you SEEN us play, Chelsea, Utd and Spurs, Fulham this season we we're playing really good football. Drew 2 Won 2 of those four. Against BETTER footballing teams than us. So I don't get this you would not enjoy it.. same as we hear from ALL the teams we beat. It's a "label" because we did that our first season.. since then we're miles better and NEVER looked liked going back down. Wigan are where? going down TRYING to do it the right way according to Martinez. We're ONLY 3pts behind Liverpool. So what your'e saying is we're **** but only 3pt ****tier than Liverpool? Did you watch New v Sunderland today? IF YOU think we were physical, dull, hard.. WTF what that excuse today then? We will NEVER agree Battersea but I wish you good luck anyway.. but like us, you won't need luck to stay up.
pottermouth i think you're being overly defensive. I'm not asking you to agree with me, just suggesting i can have an opinion without being thought a sore loser. I gave you credit. I'm not commenting on your play throughout the season and haven't done so. I'm talking about the style of play during the Norwich game that i just watched. the style was as described by other potter fans, 'hard working harassing' play. I didn't say you're a dirty team or overly physical, so you don't need to suggest i did. I didn't think the game flowed much, and was very disjointed and fractured. Hence, i didn't enjoy it much. You won fair and square with these tactics so credit where its due. And when did i say stoke are ****? I get it, you're bored of being labelled by other clubs and are defensive whenever it seems to be happening again. fair enough,but cool the reaction a little, i'm not saying all the things you think i am.
Battersea Just re-read your'e comment after Waddo's.. SORRY and I was wrong to dig at you personally We DO get defensive simply because we know we're not all bad football, hoof it style. AWAY from home yes we are and I am one of Pulis's biggests critic's for his negative approach. As said previously we've been tagged as physical and we are. Big respect from me to Norwich Battersea, if it keeps you up fantastic I'm sure this season at least it will. See you next season! In the Premier League. Personally, I couldn't give a stuff how Stoke play, as I don't have to watch them on a regular basis. Stoke fans have clearly got used to their style of play and enjoy the fact they can compete with the big boys at their place. Good luck to them. As for JWM, he clearly came on here for a bit of wumming, but ended up getting his own knickers in a twist. Never mind, he has the play-offs to look forward to at the end of the season

Dave Sorry, you are wrong.. take a look at some recent comments on our board! We do NOT like what Pulis is doing this season in particular me included.. His tactic's are both boring and negative especially at home in recent games. We are the FIRST to admit that fact... But, v Swansea and on Saturday we Stoke we not boring nor negative. Not over physical, not dirty, not negative in any way shape or form. You don't agree with that then, that's your'e problem not ours. If you found it boring or awful too watch, why don't you blame your'e manager for his own approach? My advice to him is simple. DO what you for most of this season and you will do well enough I think you have anyway. Some teams try and "football their way every week" and nothing else matters. That as proved by Utd, Chelsea any team you name will not work or win you every game. Get used to it and PL has to learn how to adapt. West Ham didn't do anything other than play football, Blackpool, West Brom and dozens more have tried. You want to see Norwich play like Arsenal try and play, Utd, Chelsea, Spurs. UNLESS you have Zillions it won't happen, every week. IF you think that will happen your'e asking too much. There is NO right or WRONG way.. that, is a quote from Fergie NOT me! He knows what it takes. He never fails to say that and we've held Utd twice at our place with something to spare. By playing decent football too is he wrong?.. cos not.
Pottermouth, everything you say is correct up to a point! I cannot grant you that Stoke played football against us, but then, neither did we! Not sure what went wrong on Saturday, normally if our formation isn't working, Lambert will bring on 3 subs and change oue style to something more suitable! That obviously didn't happen, but I'm sure he will have learned from it, and next time we visit you will be a different story, I'm not saying we will win, but we will not lose in the same manner! We always get our own back. Lambert will mark stoke, there on the "to do"list. Anyways, I've no complaints, stoke won end of story. But for "seige mentality city" to come over here and claim their Barcelona is a bit rich. Stoke play ****e football that gets them results. It's a fact. They're happy now but let me ask stoke a question, what will your grandchildren think of the football that you play? Stoke will leave a horrendous legacy in this era. They've been in this league long enough to buy players to play football
What I meant was, if our formation is not working, Lambert is a master at changing tactics mid-match, that didn't happen this time, possibly because Stoke wouldn't allow us to, but as I say, next time he will have worked out a better strategy, whether it will be successful, only time will tell!
This is pointless. I think the majority of City posters have admitted the better team, on the day, won the match. Its now developed into a slanging match, on a post on our page. Well done Stoke, you won. 3 points and above us in the table. Our posters have just said they prefer our normal style of playing the game to yours. Its an opinion. My opinion is Tony Waddington would be spinning in his grave if he saw they way Stoke play now. Its my opinion OK! Your house won't burn down becasue of it and the pound won't devalue. Move on to your next opponents.
