Your son must be doing well with his business.

 

He is, very proud of him, he started with a little van and lawn mower and just built it. Now covers a big area with a few vans on the road. Funny how it works, when I moved back here after my last divorce I rented a flat in Durham and mt son met my landlord, Around a year later I had moved on and my son got a call from the landlord, he had just moved and needed some work doing, Chris, my son did it.

When he was there thae neighbour came out and asked for a price to fell a tre in his garden, he was Sir Bobby Robson and he got the job. Sir Bobby aid he had a mate who wanted his garden looking after in Jesmond, he got the job, his neighbour in Jesmond was Alan Smith. Chris now looks after a few gardens in Jesmond, all very rich.

 

That's great. It's amazing when just knowing the right people at the right time (combined with some hard work of course) can unlock so many opportunities.

 

Yes, he does some players from Boro and a lot of milionairs but he still talks about Sir Bobby, the most important of the lot and the most normal, just wanted his tree chopping down.

 

SBR came to my school once and he just seemed so normal and down to earth for being one of the best managers EVER

I remember once being at the cricket at Chester-le-Street when Peter Beardsley, Peter Reid and Bobby Robson were all their together in a box, people went to get their autographs I very nearly got Peter Reid's autograph but a lot of the people getting Peter Beardsley's autograph also got Peter Reid's some of whom would be daft mags or mackems. Bobby didn't sign any but he came out and said hello to everyone (turned out a relative of his had died not long beforehand).

 

My dad worked with his nephew when Bobby was manager at Newcastle, one day my dad call for him from a guy called Bob, turned out it was Bobby Robson who couldn't get his car off the drive because of snow, my dad came sorted it out and Bobby offered him tickets to watch us play at Leeds the following day for nothing.

 

Just come across the team sheet from the Notts game when Durham won the Championship, it's signed by all the players including Harmy and his bro.

 

Cool, should put a photo of it up on here, still remember being in the beer queue that day when Harmison took the penultimate wicket with the 1st ball back from tea everyone left the queue and headed back to their seats to make sure they didn't miss the moment.
