Like I said it didn't look like it to me and I thought he was just unlucky, and I will have to see again later if I still think so. So I can't pick one of those two really.

    Good week Tash?

Anyway, think ratings are fair, however Krul didn't do much and almost gifted Brum a goal, a 6 from me.

I think Taylor is better than Williamson, but people were comparing right-back Taylor (who is ****e there) and centre-back Willo (who is decent there)

Hope to see more of Taylor next season, great aerial presense! :D

You're making him out as a worldbeater and he hasnt proved it yet
You can't say he's consistent when he played for a whole year at CB(mostly) and we conceded **** loads!
I'm not saying he was the reason for it but he must have contributed!

A on form and fully fit Taylor IMO is the superior defender. Remember back in 06, 07 and 08.. he was class and had all the potential to be in England contention but injuries/relegation/loss of form have ruined him, therefore making him more inconsistent but on his day he's a very good CB who can comfortably play in the PL.

Sums up my opinion. Willo isn't bad though, he's been consistent and mostly solid throughout the whole season, just because he's played badly in a couple or few games doesn't mean he deserves dropping. Saylor though is younger, more athletic and quicker than Willo. But Willo has good positional play and is a good reader of the game. Both aren't top, top quality but y'know if I had to pick one, then it'll be Saylor. <ok>

Samba would do nicely though <whistle>

Don't get me wrong as I've said all the way through I think Taylor is the better CB- He's better on the ball and a threat from corners
I'm just saying i don't think it's that clear cut
Willow is a decent cb and has been at the heart of many of our good cb displays!

  11. Willo has been fairly consistant but he's not been good enough. He's been consistantly MEDIOCRE, and he hasn't just been poor in a few games. He messes up quite alot, and gifts possession back to the opposition by knocking it out for ridiculous throw ins and corners.

No nonesense defending is good but Willo takes it too far, and the years in the lower leagues are showing in him. Hes not the quality we need, and Taylor is better than him. Williamson may not make alot of diabolical errors but simply gifting possession back to the opposition can be what decides the match. He lost us the games vs Stoke and Blackburn at home for doing this. He doesn't contribute to the team enough and Taylor is effective at all ends of the pitch much more serverly than Willo.

I hope Taylor can repeat this performance in the next two games, and then with a full injury-free pre-season we can hopefully get him into the form of his life. Would still like to bring in another CB for competition though.

Why does Tash feel he has the right to make a whole thread for his opinions on a game? Eveeyone else just posts it in the matchday thread, or another thread. If everyone did what Tash does, it would be carnage on here.

  14. Totally agree. Injuries have ruined his last couple of years. He's a poor player when he's making cameos or out of position, but when he's in the team for good he's a great CB. An inform Stevey Taylor is good enough for a top 10 team.

Also, i just love the way Taylor connects with the crowd, he comes right up to my area and shakes his fists and shouts "****in come on", and the crowd go mental.

    <3 ****ing Taylor man!!

  15. I've done it for ages and i'm not stopping now. I understand if my few poor off topic articles get slaughtered, but this is on topic and i'm entitled to my opinion, so stop whingnig and lets keep this comment section from turning into a flame war. I'm not trying to pick fights here, but it's people like you who spark the flame by taking the discussion off topic.

Exactly this. We've all been dying to see Saylor play alongside an accomplished, experienced CB as well and with Colo I reckon he could learn a lot!

  18. Taylor is an great CB and should be our number one but injuries have lead the poor lad to missing several chances. When he gets a run of games he's class.

In a way he's a great partner for Colo, and both Colo and Taylor are excellent goal threats in the air, and Colo with his feet.

Taylor may have a bit too much passion and switch into striker mode, but what he does can be coached into him.

It's like Simmo, he just needs to be calmed down a bit.

Taylor is excellent and has much less flaws than Willow.

Agree with pretty much everything except the bold bit. I think although injuries haven't helped him he would be more positionally aware and wise if he hadn't been thought of as our main CB during the 06-08/09 seasons and had consistently had someone more experienced he could learn from next to him.

I'd say he has the potential to be our number one for plenty of seasons (and is fairly close to reaching that potential)
