I posted this on another thread the other day, but I feel that it is has a place here as well, I agree with the posts about expectation and about the fans have been spoilt over the last 3/4 years. The fans pay their money and so expect, but it ain't going to change overnight.

:- It must be difficult for you guys that go week in and week out to watch poor football so living abroad makes it a lot easier to swallow as I have zero expectation this season and have not really bothered following many games because I have far too much to going on in my personal life. I predicted we would finish 15th and I would be happy with that, although I did expect a little more after we kept Austin, Phillips & Fer.

I think our current position is just about right and I hope we stay in a boring mid-table all season and give Ramsey a full season to learn his trade because the last thing we need now is another promotion followed by an awful depressing season and yet another relegation and IMO that would happen.

If you look at the teams that have done well after promotion in recent times there is a common factor in that they have all had a fairly talented team that know each other and have not had to invest billions on new players e.g. Swansea, Southampton, Leicester, Norwich (to an extent), Palace and WBA after a bit of yoyoing.

IMO we need this stabilisation period to build over the next 2/3 seasons in the Championship so that in the future we can mount a proper challenge for promotion with a real chance of staying up.

Absolutely Flanman, our position is about right.
I think we can get ****ed off when we are humiliated at Fulham and Charlton and Birmingham. If we would always put up a fight, a loss would be acceptable.
I agree we need to form a strong nucleus of a team, that is ready for the challenge of promotion, and if it come promotion itself....This team is not ready (a few players in there are the nucleus I am thinking of though.....Luongo, Chery, Hall, JET and I believe Doughty with a few older heads like Ned and Konchesky (and Clint ON THE COACHING STAFF) and we could be starting to get there.
But not this season, get your expectations reasonable please

The atmosphere and crowd is toxic at the moment, no wonder the players are underperforming when they feel like if they do the slightest thing wrong it'll trigger mountains of abuse. I'm not sure if flourish in that kind of environment either!.

Relegated twice and never a boo heard, so why were the players underperforming then? Too much support?? Perhaps its what they need, since the booing has started we have kept 2 clean sheets! We can all put a spin on something, truth is we have been underperforming for the last 4 seasons and was promised another fresh start, unfortunately at the moment its the same shyte as before.

Agree entirely with this. I was embarrassed when the crowd booed Henry's yellow card yesterday. It gave their manager a chance to say how on top they were!. I thought he had a good game and was the one who started the closing down high up the field (could have been Ramsey's instructions). It seems to me that we are trying to play good football this season, with players who, in the main, look happy to be here. I guess I must be a happy clapper!

Totally agree. The booing of Henry who was playing perfectly well was ridiculous. However much I dislike the booing of our own players / manager CR's decision to bring off Luongo was extraordinary. He was having a good game and had just made a stonking 30 yard solo run into the opposing box. Unless he was carrying an injury it was a very odd one. Didn't warrant a booing though.

I've heard booing on a regular basis from the home fans at Loftus Road since we lost 2-1 to West Ham in one of Hughes' last games. Not the majority, and not every game, but pretty frequently.

Rubbish I personally saw Bosingwa play some football for QPR that no one in the current squad couldn't get close to. Yes he didn't give his all a lot of the times but in his case he was on a loser to start with coming from Chelsea. No problem defend your opinions but once in a while look in the mirror to see the illness
He is gone , history but my point is that QPR have evolved to pick on a player ... They need it nowadays
Forget any player my point is look at what is happening
If people can't see a change then you are blind ... It will take a massive effort to make the required sea change to get back what being a QPR is

I think our fans are more than entitled to be miffed at CR. we have been consistently poor under his management with most teams passing/retaining the ball against us with relative ease. Keeping Green, Austin, Fer, Sandro, Philips etc has rightly raised expectations and has given CR a squad more than capable of a top 6 finish.
I really don't think our players press high enough and run the hard yards. Picking Ned as captain was IMO an awful decision as he wouldn't inspire me to get out of bed. He's a donkey who consistently costs us goals. He's not good enough to play CB and shouldn't play there again.
I think NW appointment will bring much needed experience to the management team. Two clean sheets has his stamp all over us.

Right Dave. We haven't had a RB anywhere near as good as him since, and yet if we are to believe all his admirers (emu) he wasn't even giving 50%.

My comment was really about the crowd rather than Henry but now we're talking about it...

Every Rangers fan on the planet knows Henry has had a bad start to the season and I'm not
trying to defend that. He was rightly dropped against Wednesday (overdue in my opinion) but then restored to the starting line-up yesterday and had his best game so far this season, not spectacular I hasten to add but
solid enough. The abuse he got yesterday was based on previous form and not his improved performance yesterday, and that's why I think certain people in the crowd were wrong to get on his back like they did yesterday.

I'm not a blindly optimistic supporter of Henry, Ramsey, Fernandes or anyone else but I do support QPR and despair when other so-called supporters jump on any opportunity to start
abusing people despite a clear improvement. That's my frustration.

We have scored freely but have never really had any sustained possession or turned in a single good performance

But in carrying the dead weight like Henry it's contributed to dropping valuable points

PD whilst I don't want to contradict you as you go to far more games than I do....Ned only played 20 or so games the last time we were in this division, the preferred CB pairing was Dunne and Hill......

Sorry, but this squad won't get us promoted, they're simply not good enough. The defence is suspect and will cost us. Even having two good defensive midfielders won't paper over those cracks, the top sides we will face in the run-up to Christmas will find us out...

Partly agree with this & would really have been the case if hadn't kept so many players, however if/when we don't go up this year we're almost certainly losing Green, Hill, Fer, Philips, Sandro, Austin + 3 loanees so that's 9 key players that need replacements for so not best positioned for next season either way. Then if we're looking at a couple of season down then line then should really be playing the likes of Smithies, Furlong, Doughty now so have suitable experience going forward.

At the moment we seem to be stuck between 2 options (promotion/stabilize) which is giving out mixed messages to everyone. As it stands the current squad should certainly be competing for a playoff place at minimum if they get them organized & playing as a team.

You half answer it yourself with West Brom after yo yoing. They strengthened and returned a better side after retaining players with premiership experience and quality

Palace actually came up only just and completely unprepared. Their top scorer Murray even did his ACL and out for the season but after being heavily odds on for relegation a new manager came in and turned them around and now look at them.

You say Leicester and Swansea, how about West Ham and Newcastle? Would West Ham be in a stronger position now if they spent a few years out the league or would they possibly be in League one??

Look at Watford, a few managerial changes in last year or so. 15 players brought in over the summer and they look like they'll stay up. Bournemouth who won the league so theoretically have best chance of staying up get bad luck with injuries and look doomed

The truth is their is no magic formula. You just need to get promoted and then stay up your first year and then build from there.

Hang around in this league too long and you soon get swallowed up and become a small fish. Rich premier league clubs or recently relegated clubs will come down and hand pick your best players. Just look at Burnley poaching Gray.

Personally think your on cuckoo land if you think we'll become a better side after losing Austin, Fer and Sandro

Hands up I have not been Kelvin's biggest fan this season, not to the extent of booing him, but seemed ok on Saturday, certainly an improved performance. Think the thing that annoys me is getting a player, and some of the fans never giving them a chance. Prem and Championship alike, most are given about 5 minutes and their fate is sealed by some mostly vocal fans. I love getting to games but the booing is very counter productive and there always seems to be at least one person close to wherever you sit telling all and sundry around him/her that ALL the players are **** and don't care which is just bollocks.

It's a strange one as a lad in the 80s 90s outside of London I loved supporting QPR when the majority supported Arsenal, Spurs Man U and Liverpool, we were different to them, a proper club with a sense of togetherness not a bunch of cry babies whenever a decision didn't go our way, now in an age where the internet can bring you into a QPR discussion in a second a dream for me back then (Not many QPR fans in rural Northamptonshire), the sense of togetherness seems to have been polluted with people seeming to want the club to fail all the time. Don't get me wrong the majority are great and maybe I'm just looking at the past with rose tinted specs but it seems impossible going to watch a game without someone trying to bring the rest of us down reveling in all that is wrong with QPR.

No, it's definitely not that recent. Over the last 3 or so years the booing has become more regular and more petty. And this season has been the worst and most nasty. Those fans who thing we belong in the top half of the premier won't accept a few misplaced passes. Success is demanded and its demanded now. There's no patience and little respect. That's the key thing for me; respect. Whilst someone is standing amongst thousands it's easy to utterly berate or be rude to one of these players who pull on the QPR shirt but still isn't right. Bosingwa was a different case because he obviously didn't give a ****. But a player like Henry who obviously trains and plays hard simply doesn't deserve it, even if he isn't good in your opinion.

I'm not sure if you were there but I was and I remember the game well. Henry made a string of errors in the second half but it wasn't totally awful. It was just a rough patch. But in the first half he was a standout player. He got involved throughout and moved the ball across the pitch swiftly. Ok, he didn't get very involved in attack but throughout the game he was the one shifting the ball from one side of the box to the other, trying to help the more attacking players find a way through.

I don't rate him super highly but on his day he's actually quite a good player and a big part of his game is marking players out and covering defenders who have gone forward.

If anyone really believes he had a bad game then they need to get themselves a QPR player subscription and watch the whole 90 mins again, studying him. Otherwise, I suggest that you had already decided to have a negative opinion on his game without watching his game closely.

Furthermore, I think it's a disgrace that so many people booed Chris Ramsey. It's a shameful level of disrespect. I bet you CR spends a lot of time going through plans, training the players as best he can, sifting through small details. I have no doubt that he's trying his absolute best. I think the players respect him, too. But those fans who booed... that's embarrassing. It's arrogant for a fan to think they know better than him and it's just plain rude and disrespectful to boo him for making his decisions because that's what he's paid to do; make the decisions that he thinks are best.
