Could not agree more on that Warnock was always going to be sacked it was more of a case of when and not IF
I wanted him instead of Zamora. Would have cost a lot less when wages are included too. Look what buying "proven" players has done to us.
We were going down with him, at least TF tried something to keep us up, ok it didnt work but he still did the right thing. i cant believe anyone in their right mind would still cling to thinking Warnock would have kept us up. I agree with you, sacking Warnock was right, employing Hughes was wrong.
To get back to the OP, in my predictor I had a loss against Liverpool and a draw against Sunderland. So, two points better off but much worse off without Cisse who seems the only player capable of scoring. Unless Heider or DJ or Bobby suddenly start scoring, then Cisse's red may be the deciding factor in the run in. Interesting debate about transfer policy, players bought etc. I know NW was very disappointed not to be able to persuade Jon Walters to join in Summer 2010. At the risk of opening old debates / wounds Cerny bashing, Defoe??
Absolutely RTID! I dont think 3 points from the 2 games is that bad. The big loss is Cisse however if someone can fill his boots then things may not be that bad. Yet another cup final to come against Arsenal on Saturday!
Well we seem to play better against the "Tops Teams" in the league so it's an easy run in for us ! Agree points are ok from last 2 but losing Cisse is a big one for us, unless someone else steps up to the plate, just can't see who.
Yes, and isn't Traore out for a couple of weeks too? The thought of Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain charging at Hill and Young is scaring, and without any pace in attack ouselves next Saturday could be reminiscent of last Arsenal visit, 6-0 in the cup about ten years ago. I remember Ashley Cole was devastating that day, first time I'd seen him play.
I think Onuoha will be at right back and Hill in the centre after yesterday's debacle, Young was skinned alive by McClean. Taiwo will just have to cope on the left. It doesn't really matter how we set up, Arsenal have pace everywhere so get the prayer mats out...
i still think there is a slight hope of us staying up, we have Arsenal next Saturday and they like to play the passing game and move the ball around the field which they might have trouble doing at our ground due to it being so small, We are awful at the moment at deafening crosses but luckily Arsenal don't tend to cross the ball as they mainly play the ball to feet and through the center which might work to our advantage, so my perdition for Saturday is a good performance and a 2-1 win to Rangers , come on you Rsssssssssssss
No team is relegated from 18th with so many games to go. I'd be surprised if the other teams in the mix were filled with much more hope - if they could string results together they'd be clear. What team at the arse end of the table will say they're putting in quality performances every week? We're 18th, in spitting distance of safety and all to play for.
Your faith is admirable but some of us are just being realistic here. Go back to the start of the EPL, how many teams end up being relegated sitting in 18th after 30 games? You have to admit the chances are high. If I were TF I'd start making plans for next season in the championship behind closed doors. We can bounce back, just need to plan well.
We're probably odds on (1-2) to go down but we're not 100-1 against survival though. This suggests that one in 3 seasons from the same position would result in us staying up. This does not suggest that we've been relegated for the past month like some suggest. Difficult, slightly unlikely but not impossible - that's realism.
Theres was at least half a dozen other managers in the betting Id rather have had and no, Im not going to bother searching.
What a load of recycled tosh. 1What is it precisely that makes you say that Warnock had lost the dressing room? One poor performance in the Cup when nobody seemed to be up for the challenge of the mighty MK Dons? There will be the odd flat game, Liverpool away, Man Utd at home spring to mind but apart from those, we played with far more tactical nous, spirit and fire during the run of defeats under Warnock than we have done under Hughes.
