Fair point. Chelsea Fulham can be noisy though, I've seen some great atmos at the Cottage.

Chelsea could be very good in the 80s and even 90s when they first lost the running track but success has made the atmos poor at home.

Their away support was very good... up with Leeds west ham in the 70s 80s, nearly as good as Rangers/Celtic/United.

But I think passionate home support is much better East than West London. QPR and Fulham have never had the passion of West ham fans. maybe Chelsea got close for a while

I will admit the cottage can be very quiet, for those who have witnessed the juventus and hamburg game, i took a west ham fan to the hamburg game, and he had never witnessed a atmosphere like it, its a lot to do with the importance of the game, got to say spurs are noisy

Cottage is about same as Loftus. Quieter than Chelsea. Fulham away support not great.

Back in the day:
West Ham
Chelsea
millwall
Arsenal
Spurs
Charlton
Fulham/QPR
Wimbledon

Now:
Spurs
West Ham
Millwall
QPR
Chelsea/Fulham
Arsenal

I agree success has made the atmosphere get worse but my opinion is that West Ham, Spurs and Chelsea have always had a higher element of hardcore fans than any of the other clubs.

Chelsea's away support has always been top notch but in terms of numbers not as large as it probably was back in the 80s.

You don't like us much do you? Remind me again why you're here?

We do seem to be attracting a lot of other teams' fans. Their boards must be ****e eh?

Recently, I looked at the volume of posts and articles on other N606 boards and I was surprised that some are almost completely inactive with the QPR version being one of the busier ones.

Why don't the Fullofit and Chelskum fans do one and feck off to their own boards? And all of you "thanks for the support and kind words" tree hugging, sandal wearing hippies should man up and tell them to get bent (not Darren).

We are QPR and excuse me if we want to wallow in a bit of self pity on OUR board.

Funniest thing I saw on Saturday was a bunch of Fulham supporters chanting at QPR fans "There's only one team in Fulham" - who gives a monkeys? We aren't from Fulham so why would we care?

Grrrrrr!

I disagree. Whilst there are some WUMs who we should choose to ignore, I think some of the posters from rival teams make some valid and interesting contributions. IMO, this board is better for having them as "guests".

Good point and I'd guess that's why a lot of us post here rather than places like WATRB. Disagree about wummers though. Everybody should deal with them as they see fit be it ignore or confront.

Agreed: it was fantastic in the 80s. And very good still in the 90s too.

Took the piss everywhere they went bar West Ham and Wall maybe

I generally don't like these blokes who seem to only care about ''atmosphere'', ''away support'', and how noisy it is inside the stadium.

I'd rather sit in complete silence if it meant I could be entertained by whats actually going on on the pitch, and see my team victorious.

Atmospheres in general have lowered. Football is a business nowadays whereas then it was a Sport. You could just turn up on the day and get in.

Football is becoming more family orientated and middle class and as a result atmosphere has taken a knock.

In Germany football still is the fans game hence why their atmospheres are far better.
