again ,you need to read !! not persued or signed but he is more than happy to work with and improve and coach the player. Laudrup did not target the player specifically we had about 4 targets some of them from Laudrup/Larsen some of them from the club scouting system .

Not every player comes to his mind but there are plenty he looks at and gives the ok to, just like at any other club with a director of football.

Remember the dynamic we have at Swansea, it is not built around the manager !!

that also includes our transfer policy,if you remember this then it makes perfect sense.Bony will be here longer than laudrup and just like our chairman said, the club will continue to grow and will always be looking ahead to the next appointment <ok>

In regards to a lack of a plan B I think that's complete rubbish, I agree we try and play too narrow at times ,subs have only been limited in choice because of injury though, Pablo has been a big miss IMO and I remember us getting it wider against WBA ,Palace and Valencia . I think Laudrup is very astute , its a marathon not a sprint and once the new players are familier with playing with each other we will see a lot more variation, but as for no plan B that argument left town when Brenden Rodgers did :) !

    Interesting points Yankee.

I know the club wanted a Marquee signing this summer, they had a list of targets and like any list there is going to be a favourite,my guess is that the boy who went to Dortmund was number 1 aspas number 2 and so on . IMO we were definatly gazumped on the Aspas deal and the number 1 was a long shot when Dortmund came in.

Bony was on the list and im guessing that the further down the list we go the more aspects of a players game we would need to work on , it makes perfect sense to me. Laudrup clearly fancied aspas to come in and link with michu but he went for more money to Liverpool, then it is a question of working on the rest to fit the plan, which is where Bony seems to be right now .

I think the club are buying with 1 eye on the future and there is nothing wrong with that, I also think that Bony will take months not years to adjust its just a question of fitness and fitting into a different culture and system of play .

As I said before ,when laudrup leaves, which may be at the end of the season then most of his signings will be ready to leave to .

Chico. 1 year left on contract at end of season.
Pablo . 1 year left on contract at end of season.
Alvaro . loan to end of season.
Lamah. loan to end of season.
JDG. loan to end of season .

That's a fair few players that will be perhaps ready to leave when laudrup leaves. Michu I think will go when laudrup does,so you can add him too ,regardless of him having an extra year on his contract .

Continuity players signed by the club and Laudrup for the future, regardless of where the manager goes are mostly young guys taking a pay hike and a move up to the prem league.

    Amat, replaces chico long term.
pozuelo, replaces michu/ JDG long term
Canas, replaces leon britton long term
    Bony,replces Michu as striker

I can see the work being carried out by both Laudrup and the board, its an eye on the past, present and future and its exactly how the club should be run! the Swans are clearly trying to move away from 100% manager control because we have seen first hand the damage it does when they leave! this is why under Laudrup the plan is a little bit different, the previous managers always talked about long term plan and building a club ,Laudrup has never mentioned this once so it makes perfect sense to forward plan and work with the knowledge that he is not long term but use his knowledge to secure some promising talent as his legacy <ok>

Just like I thought and stated above, Michu is the center forward today against Cardiff with a solid midfield behind and Bony is on the bench.

Question: is this a one-off, or has ML decided to go with his tried and true, strongest suit on hand for the near term.

Doesn't matter who we put up front at the minute as nothing is working, and our wingers are crap with service into the box, both Dyer and Routs were clueless today!...............<ok>

I'm struggling with the notion of playing a five man midfield with another midfielder up front as being "tried and true".

As far as I can recall on almost every single occasion we have foregone a striker the team has looked mostly ineffective and struggled to create chances. The fact that Laudrup consistently chooses to play this way despite clear evidence that it doesn't work is a big black mark over him, and probably the reason for Huw Jenkins' little outburst yesterday. It's certainly one of the main reasons for our defeat.

I've posted before but worth posting again, stats were shown on Sky showing that we have scored twice as many goals with Bony starting compared with when he doesn't. Also, when Bony plays, the time between goals is almost halved. Telling figures that prove your point imo.

This issue goes back to last season too. Is it a coincidence that our form dipped post Wembley when Michu was mostly upfront? Or that our performances this season with him there have been laboured at best?

A definition of madness is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Should we be sending men in white coats for Laudrup?

Ask Huw Jenkins. but don't ask him why our marquee signing is on the bench he might burst a blood vessel!!

Agree completely, and I think that most of the Jack army see this issue, and have respectfully given him the time to see otherwise, but something has to give, if we do not start to use the width of the pitch again, and use our wing players the correct and effective way!.................<ok>

Nobody wants to see him take stick (apart from Dai, and he's a moron), but he needs to realise where he's going wrong, and quickly.

I think that the way we capitulated yesterday in the second half, will focus minds at the Liberty, because second half yesterday Cardiff were up to 65% possession, unbelievable as that is for such a poor Cardiff side, but it really does say an awful lot about our game second half, and it's been a constant feature this season that surely must be addressed ASAP!.....................<ok>
