Gerrard was IMMENSE 2nite.Best crosser at the club by a MILE. One and two touch player, keeps the ball moving,does the right thing at the right time, I was a bit worried after the latest injury.But its clear the kid as still got it, in f**kin buckets!!!!
If we can keep him fit we'll be a far better team for it he was mighty impressive tonight from the minute he got on...the difference between a tight game and what turned into a stroll.
I think if gerrard was fit the whole season andy carroll would have been well amoungst the goals already, found him several times & not just half chances either ! really puts Downing´s contributions into perspective when you see Gerrard put in as many good crosses in one game as downing has all season !
I didn't know whether Downing looked frustrated or desperate last night, one thing is for certain...he doesn't look fit to wear the Liverpool shirt.
He looked both mate and he really has been a big disappointment so far....I do feel sorry for him in terms of being played on the "wrong" side sometimes but even when he does cut back onto his stronger foot his crossing has still been awful. Must do better
Everything else seems OK, he gets into decent positions, he gets enough space but his delivery and finishing has been awful. I knew £20m was too much but I thought he would be a good signing, there is time though.
