Massive shout out to EVERYONE in our corner today, OWTS rang out for around 20 minutes in the second half and it really spurred on the lads. Once we started it seemed like the pressure lifted the second half and we just absolutely dejected the Swans. For once there was a cracking atmosphere developed and the singing was endless. Anti-Pompey songs were kept to a minimum and it was all about getting behind the Saints. If any readers were in said corner today big credit and Northam and Kingsland sing up
Certainly sounded good on the radio. Only negative was that the commentator mentioned Fox being booed.
I don't think he was booed. The crowd got frustrated with him (understandably) and Pulis on 5 live was saying that Saints fans should get behind all their players. Didn't mention booing.
Certainly not from our side, not that i heard anyway. Magnificent support today which actually made a change, i hate using the word plastic and today it just felt like everyone over our side had been an ever present with us.
Best atmosphere of the year so far, good that everyone got behind the team when we were struggling in the second half. My vocal chords are in a whole world of pain.
Totally agree, couldn't wait to get a beer after the game to lubricate the vocal chords. Hopefully now the team has clicked the crowd has too.
I was in the itchen today (don't have my season ticket anymore) and you're right, it was incredible! Banter with the Swans was first class as well. Fantastic game!
Two or three people near me were getting right on his back. And he got an ironic cheer when one of his passes didn't go astray. All very harsh, as any left back would have struggled to cope with Nathan Dyer in the form he was in today.
Much better atmosphere and easily best of the season. Still not a patch on many home games in the Championship & League 1 though.
You are dead right CBK but it seems we are slowly getting there. Maybe its the success, which we had lots of in the lower leagues.
If anything, I think saints crowd reacts better when we are up against it. Northam woke up when Swansea were pushing hard for an equaliser. They were quiet as a mouse in the first half when the game was more even. Still baffled by the empty seats though. There ALWAYS seems to be an excuse each game this season (sky, kick off time, school hols, sunday game etc etc). At this rate, its really putting to bed the "extend st mary's" debate if we only sell out for "big club" games. Perhaps instead of Saints trying to court bloody students with offers, they should target the estates around the city with offers for fans who are finding it too expensive to go.
