Well they certainly knocked the stuffing out of Turkey tonight, and I thought the Czechs were ready to check out too.
I hope this is one of your joke posts. Look at that pass for Morata's 2nd. That's Iniesta all over. Love watching people like him and Kroos.
spain are an absolute joy to watch they were 'poor' by their standards in qualifying and friendlies but this tournament, it's like the teams of the last 6 years even with the 'new' players. bruno is like 32, nolito 29 who are 'old' in footbal terms and both play for 'lesser' spanish clubs but they are clicking in the team incredibly
Spain are **** to watch, tedious possession football straight out some ****'s coaching manual. Like a proficient of how you would imagine Switzerland would like to play. The armchair manager's wet dream team. Most enjoyable teams to watch so far have been Iceland and Albania, battling against the massive odds
and you talk utter **** how can you call possession football tedious? it's a joy to watch, an art. it's why most teams don't do it because they can't one of spains goals took like 20 passes until the goal. that's incredible seems many english like to see kick and rush football.. 3 passes and a goal pathetic i have enjoyed croatia and italy the most this tournament
if you didn't know who zlatan was and saw him just these 2 games you'd think he was utter trash sweden have been abysmal, i was atleast expecting zlatan to have some 25 yard shots at goal etc, he's been so disappointing can say the same for ronaldo after tomorrow i expect the stars so far are people that were relitavely 'unknown' even a year ago
It was 22 passes for Morata's goal. Presumably according to your logic it wouldn't have been as good as a 32 pass goal or a 42 pass goal? Tedious as **** to watch for neutrals.
I despise Spain and their entire football ethos. Two players passing it back and forth between each other for 20 passes, whoop de fookin do. I swear it's The Emperor's New Clothes. I tried to watch for 10 mins last night to see if I was wrong, I wasn't.
True. Always has been. Cause of WW1 and always likely for things to kick off there. A lot of them just use football as the vehicle for carrying on their arguments.
I think the flares yesterday and also the Russians highlight a wider issue. Football's "problem" is that it gets massive media coverage. A few members of society turn up at football, and behave anti-socially. Football gets punished, and the culprits go back to the society that created them. Expecting football to resolve societies problems is arse about face and sloping responsibility.
It happens at football because it is played everywhere. And with large crowds to mingle with in front of the world's media. Other sports don't have the world wide appeal of football. No pointing trying these things at American sports which aren't played anywhere else or both versions of rugby which are only played in a relative handful of countries with smaller crowds in one code, or cricket.
Yes it is. Yet, especially as you get older you can't remember recent things as well as things from years ago. I can reel off the City teams of the 60s and 70s more easily than those of the last decade or so. I can recall minor events from years ago but go to the shops and not recall what our lass asked me to pick up. That could be a sign of old age or a lack of interest compared to the events of year ago of course.
Bit of googling came across this, good article http://outsideoftheboot.com/2015/10/16/the-sad-state-of-croatian-football/
