I'm not disputing he has left us with **** and in the ****, but we are still 6 points from safety so things could change. I thought he had something but I was wrong, I said at halftime if McManus is retained we are in the ****. I also wondered if Foster and Albert are both told to stand there when they both have bags of pace that a quick burst ball over the top and bang they are away. Always thought it was just Albert but watching Foster do the same I wondered if they are just told to wait for the ball. Can you imagin Giggs just standing around no he would be gone and ball over the top the forward following him up. So yes I was wrong with Del, but I'm also afraid that the next manger who comes in are stuck with Killkenny, Fontaine and Pearson along with a few others who could not give a **** about playing as a team. I was wrong to trust Del I hold my hands up to that, but to say he left us with **** when I listed 5 possibly 7 decent players played as a team would worry most oppositions.
No, absolutely not - as I said on my other thread, it won't make a blind bit of difference who the new manager is. The dross will up their game 300% to try and win a new contract but if it doesn't look like they will get it, they will out him too. Permanant signings is what I judge a manager on, loanees are a means to an end, they are not our players Like I said, SL needs to take a stand and tell whoever is in charge that certain players are unavailable for selection, PERMANENTLY - that way, they can have no influence on our survival battle. If they couldn't be bothered to play for DM, they should not be allowed to play at all...
"do you struggle with that concept..?" "No doubt when our new manager walks in and we start to lose you'll blame the manager.. and not the players" Well you certainly seem to struggle with it. Thats exactly what you have been doing...
i blame the players as much as the manager.. but the manager will always get the brunt of peoples blame because he bought most of the ****. why do you think mciness got stick from all sides of the staidum whilst some people were clapping off the players..?? And before you spout your nonsense prem.. i don't care if they're long term/short term or loan there his players.
But Lan it's the old adage; One can lead a horse to water but you cannot force it to drink. For horse read Fontaine, and the Dad's Army that McInnes inherited and which the new manager will also have the pleasure of meeting reportedly in the next day or two. This state of affairs is not peculiar to McInnes as Millen had to put up with the same grief from the same asylum idiots. In addition to a new team manager, we have to get the dross OUT NOW!
At the end of the day, we had a manager UNABLE to manage the players we have, weather here already or brought in by him........end of......OUT OF HIS DEPTH. If the players we have play well under the new manager, then the manager is doing his job properly.......it's easy!
We will never agree on this. I am certain that those who were out of contract in the summer and knew they were going did for Del. A quick study of Fontaine and Gerken's even more pathetic than normal displays yesterday is ample evidence of this although ironically, Fontaine did have a better game - once we were 4 down. It was a straight case of its you or me mate so you have to go and I fail to see why you cannot realise that this is nothing to do with "management" same as if we worked for the same company and the boss says one of you has to go. I don't want to lose my job and all the things I have acquired with it over the years. I expect you wouldn't either and its worse for a footballer because they have become acustomed to the standard of living plus they would have to move wife and kids, etc to get a new job. I might respect you but if it came to a straight choice, I am not going to chose you am I....? I remain 100% convinced that this was a simple, straightforward case of self preservation and nothing will change my view on this. As for the new man, we will almost certainly have the I want a new contract boost from those due in the summer and the rest of the boys will up their game as well and both old and new will function well together as a unit as I am sure the players get on. I am confident that we have enough about us to survive but, job retention is the key and the question is, how long before those who are disappointed become disaffected and start all over again. I guess the only thing the new man can do is to refuse to discuss new contracts until the end of the season...
"whilst some people were clapping off the players" I don't know what game you were at but I didn't see anyone clapping off the players (except those aimed at Wes Burns and Bobby Reid!) There is something very easy to understand here, we will get nowhere with the bunch of dross that consistently under-performed this season, Whether you liked or disliked the manager or not, the usual suspect players need to be removed, sooner rather than later. Thats not rocket science.
well i saw most of the atyeo clapping them.. and im not dis-agreeing with the fact we need to get rid of half of our players.. but the manager didn't help the cause for reason which is clear to everyone.. except prem of course.
A very large % of the Atyeo had gone by the final whistle. I stayed to gauge the reaction which was that other than Burns and Reid, the rest got a reaction ranging from neutral to down right hostile (same as at Blackburn)... As for the cause, I said yesterday that I can't argue too much with what happened. The following is from my "professional pride" thread posted after the Blackburn with the relevant bit highlighted Fontaine - I found myself feeling a bit sorry for LF today. He was never top drawer material but he used to give his all and be committed to the cause. My guess is that DM tried to boost his confidence by making him captain and show faith but the player I saw today was a pale shadow of his former self and a very poor excuse for a footballer. He looked like a man who has completely lost his way and all confidence with it and I have to wonder if there is something off pitch behind this. The best thing for all concerned would be for LF to go out somewhere on loan (Yeovil?) and try and rebuild his career as currently, I never want to see him in a red shirt again. The final nail in that particular coffin had to be when the referee was walking towards him with his hand reaching in his pocket for a card, our own supporters were shouting "off, off, off" Play him again Derek and it will probably cost you your job as even I will lose patience. Well, he did do it again and to compound matters, put an out of contract goalie in as well (not sure why, was Heaton injured) and as they say, the writing was on the wall...
